The Age ranks us LAST in potential gain stakes in trade free agency period.

Hard to disagree with it, if we draft well the pain will ease as the years roll by.

what's the difference between having most to gain or gaining the most?

Who knows, but obviously he doesn't barrack for the Pies...

Gaining Moore will be a huge plus for us, but with that Beams will be a HUGE loss with far more immediate impact. I believe we should hold out on the 'Bears' but who knows what our think tank will settle for in the end - it could be anything.

Lumumba came 5th in last years Copeland, likely to do something similar this year and Beams will be 1 or 2. That's a huge loss for us for 2015, irrespective of our pickups.

At this stage, 18th is about right....but hey, it's only October...

Not much thought put into that article. Teams known to be losing players: bottom, teams known to be gaining players: top.

We already knew we'd be losing Lumumba and Beams, that's all this article says.

Trade week winners and losers will be determined by ins vs outs, not one or the other.

What about this doosy?

8. Carlton

The Blues are a bit hard to assess, and the losses of Waite, and potentially Mitch Robinson and Jeff Garlett will probably cause some short-term pain. But Mick Malthouse is continuing to try to shape his own version of Carlton, and the losses of a few more experienced types will give him the chance to bring in key position prospects Jaksch and Liam Jones, and livewire Jason Tutt.

Well if we have the least to gain from the trade period, doesn't that mean that we're in the best shape to start with and hard to improve? Razz

Well with Frawley going to Whorethorn, this whole league is a farce.

Effectively what the afl has done is the opposite of their mission. They introduced the draft and salary cap to equalise the league. And now they have free agency causing massive problems because the players would prefer to go to a club and be immortalised with a premiership than take an extra 59k and stay with a shit club.

It has backfired massively.
