Runthru Aknowledgements

Hi all,

as you know by now the runthru was a huge success and believe me when the crowd saw Alf's contribution of
PORT SUPPORTERS
MOAN AND GROAN
BUT THE MAGPIE NAME
IS OURS ALONE..........
The boos that reverberated around moron park was music to our ears because we knew we got to them......
and on the other side we used Dillo_9 contribution of
YOU BEAT THE OTHERS
YOU DID IT WELL
NOW YOU'LL TASTE
BLACK AND WHITE HELL.......Dillo we did some minor adjustments to yours as it was for the players side we just substituted THEY
for YOU..... Hope u don't mind.............

Many many thanks to both of you guys for coming up with such
great sayings.......
and they did taste black and white hell....... Oh what a night......

Even the Crows supporter, Bruce McAvaney, seemed to find it amusing in his pre-match spiel. It was pretty speeeeeecial to watch the video when I got home and hear my words read out on national television by Mr.Speeeeeeeeeecial himself. He's an old Norwood fan so I guess he'd have no great love for Port. The ironic thing is that I was once a fanatical supporter of the Port Adelaide Magpies. So there you go.

Thanks heaps for letting me know, its great that I could contribute even if i dont have the time to come down to run thru on a thursday night. Thursday is the ONLY noght i cant make it!!

Anyways, if I think of anymore I will post them here - always feel free to use anything I post and in case I miss it on match day, let me know here.

I got a bit of a laugh out of it actually coz I was sitting at the Lockett end and when I red it I got the surprise of my life. It was quite alright that you used it. I am a jinx against Sydney though. We have lost four out of our last five against Sydney, I've been to four of em and well we lost all of them and just to rub it in yesterday the old bag behind me kept whacking me with while waving her stupid swans scarff after the game to which she said "I'm old, I won't get to see many more wins" to which i replied "keep whacking me with that scarff and I'll make that a certainty". So to sum my day up seeing the banner was easily the highlight of my day.

Simple solution to your problem of being whacked by opposition scarves, flags etc:

Sit with the Collingwood Cheer Squad and get whacked by Collingwood scarves, flags etc.

Great banner slogan, by the way.

yes good point Alf. I do enjoy the banter with the opposition ferals, it's fun. I've sat behind the cheersquad a few times and although there is nobody to give crap to the atmosphere sure is good so I assure you I'll come down and sit with you guys one day and introduce myself. You'll have no trouble spotting me, The ladies throwing rose petals at my feet will make it obvious that I have arrived

Must admit though it was our second choice. What we decided on was

The Melbourne Board
Gave Joseph the flick
But here at Collingwood
We are in Gutnick.....

The Club gave that one the big Flick.....

Thanks, Cobood.

I got a real buzz seeing it there. I didn't get to banner making on Thursday because I was feeling a bit ill. But to get to the ground today and find out that my banner slogan had been used for such a big match at the G was a major buzz.

I guess the Gutnick one was a bit too hot to handle, but I'm sure the republican sentiments on today's banner would have not only pleased our good President, but would have also got right up the noses of the red-and-blue-blooded, born-to-rule types in the Smokers' Stand.

Oh shit - I made the trip to Adelaide but the bloody taxi driver was so damn slow and I arrived just as the broken banner was being packed away. Just my bloody luck - but I had a great time anyway and it was great meeting a lot of you!
