Post subject: TRADE WEEK PREDICTIONS | |
|
The following shall be the likely trade week prediction:
offloads:
* Heritier Lumumba for 2nd rd draft pick (24-30). We prefer Melbourne's than the Eagles due to ladder position
incoming:
* Jeff Garlett for one of our second rd picks (most likely our lower one). May seem like overs but we won't have a 3rd pick to give due to M Clark.
* Mitch Clark: for our 3rd round draft pick which shall be approx. pick 48 which is a great deal for us and offsets paying a tad over for Garlett.
Yes the nay sayers ahall say why do we need a known gib like Garlett? Well most forward pockets aren't renowned for their intestinal fortitude. He is a 45-50 goal a year player and only 25. We haven't had this since leon's hey day and even thenm he was a 35 goal a year player. _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

I would love all of that to happen, but I can't work out how H gets a second rounder... Likely 3rd. _________________ Buon Giorno |

Nah I reckon H will go for a second rounder unless a player is involved.
You wouldn't give him up for anything less IMO. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

eagles, dees and dockers all are in the mix forcing a bidding battle that shall ensure a solid second rounder _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

Straight swap for Clark.
When you balance things out, including that H wants out and we agree, it works. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Garlett ...... errr. No.
2nd rounder. Hell no! You'd pick him up for a 4th rounder. And will be lucky to be picked up by anyone.
Go to the Draft. Remember we picked up Langdon and Marsh with picks 50+. Would you swap either of those for Garlett?
Clark makes some sense cos we need a tall forward and maybe worth the punt with a 3rd round.
Should get a 2nd rounder for Harry. Then use it in the Draft. We need to build for the future. Not for 2015. |

1st pick: Jarrod Pickett.
2nd : Darcy Moore ( will happen).
3rd : Jeff Garlett.
4th : ( Another gem like Langdon).
Trade : H for Mitch Clark.
Free Agent : Nick Malceski.
Cat B Rookie : Waylon Manson ( This kids a free hit and a freak ).
** Must also look to recruit Viojo Rainbow and Nakia Cockatoo.

If Carlscum want Mitchell they will have to use their 1st rounder, looks like Moore could slip to 2nd round.
and a NO on Garlett, rookie at best. _________________ B.U.M.S ROCK...That's Ballarat United Magpies Supporters.....Long trip but even longer hangovers! |

If this is even close to right then we'll be pushing Top 4 next year. With Carlton needing their first pick for a trade, there's only one or two clubs who might bid on Moore. I'll keep hoping it works out. |

Garlett will be picked up by a team, no doubt about that. Look at the stats that Swoop posted. Take out this season and he's had a very solid career so far. What's the saying? Form is temporary but class is permanent?
I would hope that we can work out some sort of trade for H that ends up being maybe a player and third rounder we can use on Garlett. His value has dropped, but not to fourth round stage.
And don't use Marsh and Langdon as examples please, yes they were late picks, but you can't bank on picking up players like them late in the draft every year. It's very rare that it happens these days, and we were extremely fortunate last draft. For every Langdon there are 10 Jackson Paines. |
