Pick you up on "point #1" there Stui.
Port Adelaide Power and Port Adelaide Magpies were 2 separate entities until very recently.
I can feel the "Trojan Horse" scenario happening here (to steal the terminology off somebody else...).
I hope the "last time" call is adhered to Ed!!!!!!
And Port - AQUA is who & what you are. Deal with it.

FWIW it would not upset me at all if they wore their Prison Bars jumper this week, seeing we are not playing. If we are not part of the Finals, then im ok to let em wear it, it doesn't really affect us, really. !

| Port are in the finals means they have bragging rights. As far as the jumper goes, I think you will find their merchandise department will tell you to stick the stripes. |

Correct, no argument. The fact that it was a stupid arse call by the SANFL in the first place to make them separate is beside the point.

Agreement in place says it's the last time the Port Magpies jumper in it's current form will ever be seen in the AFL unless they bring back heritage round. Eddie said this after Port wore it in the Elimination Final.

Sorry, but I LOATHE AND DETEST THE DAWKS, anyone but them for the flag, anyone, id be rapt if Port beat the snotty nosed, arrogant tossers, the pooh and piss mob, their fans are beyond vile, just snobby little spoilt wankers. Stuff Hawks !!

Their success is clouding your judgement.
I would KILL to have their Finals record!
Tell me we wouldn't be just as arrogant if we had their success?
It won't be long before they over take ESS & Scum for flags, they're already on 11...

Their great run of success is massively inflated by the 70's and 80's sides which won flag after flag by virtue of the fact they (along with Richmond, Carlton and North) had sole access to the richest and deepest talent pool available due to the hopelessly compromised VFL zoning system.
It annoys me that people crap on about 11 flags in 50 years when they won 8 of them in the years 1967-91 when they were still benefitting from the awesome playing list they plundered during the VFL zoning days. Only 4 teams won any premierships in the years 67-83 (the aforementioned top zone beneficiaries) and then only Essendon got a couple before the status quo returned until we won in 1990.
Before that Hawthorns history was St Kilda-like in its total fukking shitness.
Stuff them. |
