Obviously we need to be active at the trade table this year. Time to make the tough call. For mine, we have one to many key defenders and while none of them are world beaters, they all have reasonable currency in todays meat market. They reckon Moore can play at both ends, so there is another one coming through at some point.
Just putting it out there, who would we let go, if it meant strengthening another area of the ground. Brown ( injury prone ) ? Keefe ( shaky ) ? Reid ( injury prone ) ? Frost ( how much improvement to come ) ?

Wouldn't surprise me if they all get one more year to establish who we want to keep.

Prior to this season, I wanted to get rid of Brown and Keeffe which would have left a more gaping hole than we had.

I still don't think either have much of a future but unless we pick up replacements we are stuck with them.

keefe has a massive pile of potential. starting to really show it too.

don't see the need for brown personally, however he's a very loyal guy. would be awful to 'get rid' of him unless he wanted to leave...

We were down to two key defenders as it is in AFL ranks and had none available for VFL selection.

We need more key position players if anything rather than less.

Can't see Brown or Keeffe going anywhere and nor should they.

I used to be undecided, but now I'm not so sure.

I don't get the disregarding of Keefe and to a lesser extent Frost.

They held our defense together (along with Langdon) while all around them fell.

Keefe lowered his colours a couple of times and was unnecessarily dropped both times and became a bit of a whipping boy in some sections but by and large he was dependable and did his job to a good standard.

The upside for Keefe is enormous. A 6ft 7, mobile defender who is still learning the caper but who has gotten significantly better each year and will continue to do so imo.

Seriously we'd be mentally deficient if we even considered trading him.

Agreed, keep them all and add performance pressure to the mix. Add Mitch Clark, develop Darcy in the reserves.

Prefer the Draft table and grow our own.

Only trade in senior players to get in a bargain, a definitive need, or absolute gun.

Tinkering with the side with trades is a danger and rarely works (especially for us). We successfully draft though. Maybe we should go with our drafting strength?

How do you come to the conclusion we have one too many. Clearly remember the 2nd game against Essendon where we had one too few.

What about the first WCE game at the 'G when we had Brown go down and we had Frost, Goldsack and Maxy pin their forward line of Cox, Darling, Kennedy and Hill etc down with 68 inside 50's conceded on the day?
