I'm totally disgusted with Jolly calling one of our true all time champions and current coach a coward.

Me too.

I respect your opinion Damien, but to me respect need to go both ways. I'm grateful for the hand Jolly had in our premiership, but he tainted it. First by slamming Josh Fraser, and then our coach and club.

Bridge. Burnt.

3 clubs, no mates. Has to say more about him than any of his previous employers.

^ Yep. He had our respect. He lost it. Just because you win a premiership with us doesn't mean you get the right to perpetually act like a tool.

I have to say, though, the 2010 grand final is going to become very bittersweet viewing at this rate. It features, in no particular order:

Darren Jolly, who everybody hates;
Dale Thomas, who everybody hates;
Heritier Lumumba, who everybody hates even though he hasn't left yet;
Sharrod Wellingham;
Jarryd Blair, who everybody wants to see delisted;
Travis Cloke, who copped a year's worth of venom for considering his options;
and, last but not least, Mick Malthouse up in the box.

At this rate, some Nicksters are going to start barracking for the Saints!

I don't hate Jolly, thought he said snorting that didn't need to be said, but everyone knew it was sour grapes, so only made himself look silly.

I don't hate Dale Thomas, dissappointed with his decision, but it hasn't hurt is, and I don't think him staying was that important to team performance.

I will never hate Harry, or Heri

Don't hate Sharrod, bit of a case of who's he now!

Team Blair all the way! Yeah he's slowing down, but never quits, and this season, was still in the best 22 we could get on the park, any day of the week

Certainly don't hate Cloke. You blame him for weighing his options? We were talking millions of dollars

MM. Not hate, feel sorry for him, silly vindictive old man.

I do however, hate duck wood, and Steve Johnson

^ When I say 'everybody', I'm certainly not including myself. I like all of them except Jolly (who I'm a little ambivalent about).

No need to blame Bucks. He should remember not one single other club wanted him either.

And the one team that did want him he failed a medical there. Sad for Jolly, but time to move on old chap.

Most of you in this thread should be ashamed of yourselves.

fact 1. we won a flag in 2010 that we wouldn't have won without Darren Jolly.
Fact 2. He wore the black & white stripes with distinction in many games.
Fact 3. Any player who plays only one game for Collingwood deserves your respect.
Fact 3. None of you have ever played for Collingwood and everyone of you would love to have (tell me if I'm wrong on that one)
Fact 4. Many people find it difficult to come to terms with the end of their career and some handle it better than others.
Fact 4. When there is a 10 yr and 20 yr premiership reunion he will be welcomed with open arms, and should be.

I'm totally disgusted with the tripe in this thread. And for the record I think the right decision was made also. Yes Luke Ball accepted his demise with the grace that we all should. But everyone is different. For one second, Put yourself in the shoes of someone who is told that their dream is over. It would be shattering and might take years to get over.

D Jolly will always be a Collingwood immortal to me because he's a premiership player. Think of that when you are watching your 2010 GF Dvd's and enjoying his opening goal.

The end.

They are good points to make no doubting that but in contrast you have

fact 1: wrote an article slamming Fraser, a block who put everything on the line for us for every year he was there and we loved him and as happy as we were for a flag i along with others felt for players like him.

fact 2: called a champion of our club and the coach a coward, it don't matter how upset you are you don't go calling someone a coward in a public way.

fact 3: he complained about not having a 1 on 1 chat with Bucks when it did (supposedly) take place.

fact 4: doesn't need to undermine the club every time he has an interview in the media.

I will forever be grateful that he helped us win a flag, however i can't say i respect or love him like i do with the other 21 players that played on that day

^^"We" only loved Fraser after he left, and more after Jolly bagged him. When he was at the club he was called a lot worse than Jolly called him and was none too popular with many posters.

Memories are very short on this board....

In reality this looks like just another example of Buckley zero people management skills. And after some of the usual orchestrated club spin to protect Buckley, this forum executes the victim as it were. Same pattern as always. Well nothing new there I suppose.

If Buckley didn't name the personal issues as a reason that Jolly believed they had between as a reason for his delisting, then I can see where he is coming from with the comments he made earlier. Whether that was the case, or whether it was just a bungled termination interview, matters little in the end. Either way Buckley seems to have mishandled it.
