| Post subject: Comms who support clubs annoyance! |  |

The great thing about Sandy Roberts and Mike Sheehan is that for a number of years 30 plus it was vague and almost impossible to know whom these media types supported in VFL & AFL.
These days we can't go 10 minutes without Huddo (Cats), M Campbell (Lions) Robbo (Dons), Stevo (Dogs), Gerard (Cats), Dwayne (Port), Beva (Saints), Caro (the worst Richmond), Hutchy (Cats), Michael Warner (Richmond), Jon Anderson (Cats) and Andy Maher (Carlton) having a self-indulgent quip about their club affiliation!!!!
Add in the sickening bias of KB, Brownless, Lloyd, Ricciuto, A Lynch, T Harley, C Ling, M Richardson and many others and it makes getting any sensible independent analysis impossible!!!!

Yup, same as umps, they all barrack for a team or they wouldn't be part of the AFL circus

No reason, and I don't think that was the suggestion. When they're commentating though, they should be doing their best to do so in a balanced way. They're commentating to all fans not just those of their team.

No one commentator is 100% calling his own team and not mentioning the other.
He may get more excited when his team scores. So what ?

I agree. I never knew who the greats - Peter Landy, sandy Roberts, Harry Beitzel, etc barracked for. They were well balanced, excitable, great.

Tom Harley is the worst- cannot stand him- he is so chummy and likes to still pretend he is part of the Geelong team- sates the obvious and is just a high class knob.
The fact he seems to have gone to the Julia Gillard School of Hand Movements for Public Speaking puts him ahead of the rest.
Would happily have a beer with the following:
Lingy is likeable, as is Richo.
Ricciutto an Adelaide bogan-
Billy- A geelong bogan.
All of these guys are harmless and just love their club and don't pretend otherwise
Lynch- A- Grade knob and poster boy for peptides-who noone takes seriously after his haymakers on wakelin
At least the others do not pretend to be balanced. |

I'm with Donny on this one - does not bother me at all that commentators are biased and or support a footy team.
BTW Sheehan is a Dees supporter - just a soft supporter which is pretty much the norm!

When you think about it good old Louie was the best. A pies legend who bleeds black n white, yet never barracked and called so many heart breaking grand finals where he would have been absolutely churning in his guts (1980 springs to mind, as he watched KB run rings around Stan Magro) yet was always a pro.
Onya Lou. His sidekick Peter Landy was a Hawks man by the way but they were a great combo for so long. Get out the tapes youngsters and be in awe.
