Not thrown out for the can but for being abusive towards the security personnel who confiscated the cans:

I am not surprised at all. After the Adam Goodes thing they have gone an ego trip about who they can and can't police. A heap were spoken to in M11 at the Brisbane game because Howard the ground attendant kept calling the security in. In the end he was removed and Police just walked away from the dozen or so who were left.
Personally I thinh the dobber text thing is partially to blame. Still we can go on being un Australian if it means we don't get to hear stuff we hear everyday on Tv.

Under the rules above myself and everyone I know would've been ejected from every game I ever attended since the early 70's!

Correct. I for one refuse to go to the MCG again because of this crap. People encouraged to dob in anti-social behaviour. So many Aussies feel they have to be do gooders these days they gleefully dob people in for the slightest things. Have I been asleep for decades and the Nazis actually won WWII?
