I said in another post it would depend on his state of mind.
It's wasn't being at Melbourne that did him in was his long run of season ending injuries apparently. Gerald Healy said the biggest concern would be his foot injury and how it has healed.
More interestingly was Paul Roos said he had chatted informally with Pert about H wanting a change of clubs. Could it be a straight swap ?
If so then I say sure why not depending on his medical condition

and the fact that he wants to return to the environment >afl footy< that triggered the issues spells trouble to me.

I'm with NPM.

Is sledging about depression off limits? You'd think he has a fair amount coming his way. Hope he can stand the heat!

Have you seen our forward line? Wink

Have you seen the age profile of our list? Wink

He fulfills two needs if he's considered good enough and gets his body and mind right.

Those are a couple of big question marks hanging over his head that's for sure.

Yep and yep.

Got Cloke, Reid, White, Witts, and Grundy on the list already. Marsh is a promising project player. Moore likely to be added at the draft. Gault as a development project. Karnezis on the list. Just wonder how many tall forward options we need is my issue. Clark probably offers something a little different but still another tall forward.

Nobody can judge someone's depression, what triggered it, how they're coping or what treatment they're getting except them and their doctors. All of you pop psychiatrists might want to do some research before spouting off your bullshit, because that's what you're talking. Total, unmitigated bullshit.

he will most likely tour Glenferrie oval, and down at Geelong....and maybe go on a tour of grounds in W.A.....so what is the point in everyone getting excited?

If he comes at the right price and the outcome of a medical is positive....I say go for it. He is the right age (26 I believe) can mark and kick goals. He would be a great foil for Cloke, releases white to play a more roaming forward role and as said by Az, Reid can can play down back but still swing forward if required.

If he passes all tests...make it happen.

+1. Better than Lynch & White combined.

He's had a good amount of time away from the game, plenty of time to deal with his issues / illness & have this treated. He is a lot older & presumably more mature & more experienced.

I'm sure there are quite a few players currently on lists who are experiencing depression, anxiety & whatever & having that successfully treated. Clubs are a lot more attune & proactive in getting players the support required.

To me he would be a most welcome addition if we have done our due diligence.

Moore, Gault and Marsh are all unknowns at AFL level and are years away from being able to play consistent football even if they make it.

Karnezis is yet to debut for the club. How good he is is yet to be determined.

Grundy and Witts aren't yet capable of influencing the contest as forwards.

How long before they can? Will they ever?

White didn't live up to expectations. He mightn't improve.

Reid was out injured and struggled up forward on his return.

Cloke had an improved second half but it was only an average season by him with much more expected.

Cloke remains our only legitimate tall forward threat of quality at present.

Reid has the capability to become one but will he or will he go back to defence?

Given all that and with the retirements of Lynch and Hudson I'd be open to the club taking a punt on Clark if he gets a medical clearance.
