Post subject: What to get for Lumumba? | |
|
So I've been wondering what everyone thinks about the Lumumba situation. personally after reading about him meeting with Roos, I'd love to swap pick 8 and Lumumba for pick 2 in the draft (If Moore slips to second round which I highly believe he will with his hip problems.)
Thoughts on this? I'd love Petracca if he slipped to pick 2, having Freeman and Petracca running around would be tops and apart from kicking just what we need for our midfield. Power and Speed. |

Not going to happen.
H is 27 or 28. We need to remember that, his best is past him.
I agree that would be a fantastic trade but would be crap if St Kilda say 'we are going to take Moore with pick 1'. St Kilda need a forward, remember.
Realistically, at best remembering he's no Heath, we may get an early second round pick but more likely a late second or third round. Maybe even a direct swap for a player. _________________ Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey, we want some Bayley! |

This is best possible scenario we could hope for albeit one that is highly unlikely.
Melbourne get pick 3 for Frawley.
We don't have to use a now pick 9 for Moore.
We trade O'Brien, pick 9 and our 3rd rounder for pick 3. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Look it's hard to judge H's worth to other clubs. At his best H is a decent player but his best seems to be a thing of the past.
He brings baggage of a personal nature and if what is said about him being offended by a silly comment on a picture in a boys change room I think it will sound alarm bells for any club.
If he decides he wants out then we will have to take what ever is offered up. But he is a contacted player so he can stay if he chooses but I would let it be known to him he will be playing VFL only.
I don't think many clubs will be lining up to sign him in a hurry |

Snagging Petracca at 2 would be awesome.
I can't see the Saints opting for Moore at pick 1 and from what I've heard and read there's a few better KPP in this draft. |

From what I understand Moores hip has been playing up again late in the season which may put people off since it's an on going injury.. Plus the fact that there are a few gun KPP and a few gun mids. I really can't see some bidding on him above pick 10.. Petracca would be a lovely addition to our midfield, as I've said before his power and speed is much like Freeman and if we got both of them on the ground next year that would be amazing. Saints will want a KPP over another mid IMO
I would much rather a Petracca, Wright or McCartin than Watts or O'Rouke. Having said that I've heard that O'Rouke will nominate us as his preferred club. Hopefully we get him for peanuts. Or trade him for something ridiculous like a Ramsey/Gault combo. He would be good to have running out of half back with his classy skills. He has been dominating in NEAFL not that that really means much. Look at Martin dominating in the VFL which is a higher standard and he still can't get a game! (Having said that he blew his two chances this year sadly... I'm a huge Martin fan)
We will be getting rid of more players if we are going to target anyone in the trading period as we need more open positions for the draft. I'd expect us to draft 4-5 players in the nationals and 2 rookies. |

This may not turn out good for Collingwood because if we get anything less than a top 20 pick for him, then its a bargain for the club who takes him on. They can lay down the law and start a fresh with him, ( not that he ever did anything really bad ) He could refocus and give them 3-4 years of good footy, he is 27. I would pick up Harry for a mid range pick, remembering his best form last year when playing on the wing, almost got AA if not for his mid year month long hiatus. _________________ Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero. |

I know it gets said often but apparently is a very open draft this year. Top 8 could go in any order and knowing the way Hine operates his first choice could still be around by pick 8.
A high second rounder for H might be a decent deal. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

I voted "no" on the assumption that we will use our first round pick on Moore - in which case 8 -> 2 is completely pointless. If, by some miracle, we get Moore for our second-round pick, then sure: Harry + 8 is a fair swap for 2. And the reality is that Pick 8 is just as good for Melbourne as #2 - they will select a dud either way so what difference does it make? _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

I voted yes too, but ONLY if H wants to go, its up to him, only him. ! _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Perhaps we should have a look at the Crows list; H was seen at Adelaide airport this morning, apparently he met with Sanderson. _________________ Pi = Infinite = Collingwood = Always

No one will bid above pick 10 for a KPP that has had a quite year and has hip problems.. The other KPP would be a much better fit for other clubs especially since he has an injury concern with his hip.
I also think that Lumumbas time is up and he will be traded as him and the coaching staff have had some obvious problems in the past and now. |
