Spare a moment's thought for Tarks. He's been a fine servant of the Club this century.

David King - hated him as a player, but he's pretty sharp as a commentator.

From the untried: Cam Ling, Luke Ball, Lenny Hayes.

From the tried: Mark Harvey, Shane Woewodin,

And of course Anthony Rocca has done a fantastic job in the VFL.

From left field: Michael Voss, Mark Thompson, Mark Williams.

We need to get Jason Akermanis as our new forward coach

Our small forwards could learn how to crumb the packs like he did

He is currently coaching his own team up on the boarder and wants to be an assistant coach at an AFL club and will go interstate to gain experience.

We shouldn't be tarnishing Tarks name in this Lappin thread. Tarks deserves his own.

^^^ Well, perhaps - but this is the only thread I can see that mentions that his contract hasn't been renewed.

That's quite right.

I'm waiting to find something hard and firm that he has gone (yes I'm well aware how that came out).

It's all about who Bucks wants.

Dunno about his relationship with Michael Voss, but surely he's too good not to have a gig of some sort (apart from reality TV) If his ego can handle working under Bucks you'd get a three time premiership captain in a heart beat.

There's also Big J Brown too.

Did anyone hear their discussion during the Rising star function? It was riveting stuff.

It really comes down to a choice of four. Each one is a recognised champion, a great forward and goal magnet, and a genuine loyal, trustworthy person with the ability to fit in and get on with his peers, honest as the year is long, and of course those vital communication skills. It will be one of Wayne Cary, Jason Akermanis, Stephen Milne, or Barry Hall.

Aker is one of the most poisonous individuals to be involved in AFL in recent memory. No thanks.

Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Lappin was rubbish. Our forward function was rubbish.

Need an even functioning multi pronged forward line that doesn't involve bomb after bomb after bomb after bomb.

We won a lot of footy this year but forward entry was pathetic and clueless. Give the boys a system they can execute for gods sake.

While I can see where everyone is coming from in regards to the forward line functioning, is the bombing in the fault of the forwards or the midfield coach?

Our forward 50 efficiency went like this in the last 5 rounds, v PORT 43% (49 entries for 21 scoring shots) v WET TOAST 36% (44 & 16) v LIONS 37% (43 & 16), v GWS - 34% (58 & 20 ), v HAWKS - 39% (41 & 16).

I guess it's a case of do you blame the forward coach for not putting a structure in place that means once the ball is in you keep it in there until a shot on goal. How many times was the ball marked directly uncontested by an opponent?

I don't understand game plans well enough to comment on Lappin but I actually got the impression on Monday night - well I wasn't expecting him to be given his marching orders.

Worth mentioning that the Pies are spinning it that it's all football department spending related so my guess is that there is no one else coming in. Burnsy has shifted into midfield coach, Hart is still defensive coach with Harvey now a senior assistant. I'm guessing that means Harvey is the forwards coach by default??

Anyhoo... just my two cents
