After last years drafting fiasco it will be interesting what transpires this time around. Waite is a worthy prospect but he is so inconsistent its a big risk. Frawley would slot in well but not worth the dollars.

way to old (Waite)... he'll be gone by the time we are off and running again.

Forget it. No one wants to come to Collingwood except the washed up. You can be certain we won't get Dangerfield or Cameron. They'd want to play in a premiership club.

And when one of them does come to Collingwood, I assume you'll stop posting such miserable bilge. I reckon both of us might be disappointed in the long run.

Highly doubt we would get someone from a club like Adelaide, Port, Hawks etc. We are less attractive to finals/borderline finals teams as there is some uncertainty about us in 2015.

I think we need:
- a quality ball using mid: someone similar to Dom Tyson
- the quickest small forward in the draft
- to allow for Adams, Thomas to be quality regulars
- to let Gault/White battle for 2nd tall forward
- to make a decision on Fasolo (fwd or back)
- to leave Reid down back (back to basics)

What happened with the Elijah Edwards project?

^^^ From the Elijah Edwards Watch thread in the DTM forum (posted last year, so I don't know whether Derek Hine's interview is still accessible):

It has been apparent for some time - but the rookie draft preview article linked below finally quotes Derek Hine stating that Collingwood won't be listing either of its two NSW Scholarship players (John Haggerty is the other). Neither John nor Elijah Edwards will be at the Club next year.

No, the link seems to be dead - but I promise that my post was an accurate reflection of what DH was then reported as saying.

Ryder wants out.
Be interesting to see him as a forward alongside trav.
Looks keen to go to Bris, he'd be worth an enquiry unless Bris with their cap space are going to throw a bucket load his way.

Apparently another Club is in the race for Ryder (aside from Brisbane).

He is is quality worth chasing and has plenty of years left in him. Could play key forward role.

I think the GWS/GCS young key forwards are the ones we should chase hard. At least to bump up their salary cap pressure.

But i'm happy for us to bide our time with rebuilding via the draft. We have a much higher rate of success that way.

Nope, he'll do what he did last time - claim the credit based on his influence over the coach's contract, and rhen change his Nick'sname....

I realise that the world is full of "Ifs) but if Reid was fully fit and our forward liner was cantered around Cloke, Reid and Elliott with the Fas spending time in there throughout the year it would have been effective,.

As it is Reid had no game time, White as the second tall option had little impact and Cloke was double teamed much of the time and also looked to be ineffective in getting the ball. (previous years he got the ball and couldn't kick - now he can kick but cannot get the ball - wtf??)

Going forward, Reid may never be fit enough to play the role. (The same question mark is over Brown in the back line).

Broomhead looks a likely choice and Elliott is a future champion IMO. The jury is still out on the Fas. We need another PROVEN effective and damaging tall who can kick goals and take pressure off Cloke and with a bit of luck Cloke "may" ?? become more damaging.

I havn't seen enough of Gault but he could fill this role long term. (another big if)

Go.for Big Sauce Merrett to play the enforcer role in the backline and put bums on seats.

I agree. It would be good to have a big unit like that protecting the kids for a while.
