Post subject: Port to wear the Magpies jumper this week! | |
|
Not Happy Jan!
Quote: | Talks between McLachlan and Collingwood president Eddie McGuire appear to have resolved the issue, with the AFL's football operations manager, Mark Evans, expressing his gratitude to the Magpies for supporting "a pragmatic resolution to the problem".
Collingwood and McGuire have reacted angrily in the past to any suggestion of Port wearing its traditional Magpies jumper. But the fact that Collingwood is not playing finals – along with the league's determination to present the game in the best possible fashion – led to the policy change. |

Don't know why Port should need to change from their normal rig in the first place, Tiggers have a clash jumper that's been fine until now. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Good and they can have the magpie emblem too....
We can form a break away league and tell this corrupt dictatorship where they can jam it! |

Perhaps they thought the white with the chicken stripe sends the wrong message for a final? |

Kudos to Ed.
But it's funny how this mentions Collingwood as if we're the problem.
Funny how the issue is that Richmond do not have a suitable clash/away strip. But nothing much will come of that. Let's make it about Collingwood. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

I thought Richmond had a clash jumper for Essendon games?
Can't say I'm that pleased with it or Ed in this instance.
Just hope all the back scratching Toorak Ed does these days has some positive affect on something meaningful for the club next year like a better fixture from the AFL. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Those ferals across the border can all go f*** themselves. We wear black and white stripes - no one else. We are the rightful magpies - no one else. Port signed on as the power and adopted a new logo, image, colours, song and now they still want to play these f***ing games with jumpers and colours. Get stuffed. |

I Baracked for port in all those SANFL GFs that used to be Televised in the 80s & 90s.
At least I can Barack for b&w stripes in the finals this year. Got try to be positive as I've been labelled a ""perceptive fellow"".
Maybe Port will contract our injury curse too. |

If they win the flag in our jumper then it should count as ours. |

Maybe they'll get completely screwed by the umpires if they usurp our colours, but the game is in feral serial killer town so I'm sure that won't happen. _________________ "Hey Ma get off the dang roof!" |

We are Collingwood. We have our history and Port Adelaide has theirs.
I'm in no way feeling threatened, annoyed, compromised or intimidated by having another team wearing a jumper similar to ours.
I know who my team is, and if Port wear their stripes then I couldn't give a hoot. |

At least we'll already have a plethora of port players pictured in a Collingwood Guernsey. Makes the life of the fella who has to photo shop our jumper on Chad Wingard easier for when he decides to jump ship to the mighty pies! ....I wish. |

Wouldn't it be good if Richmond actually had a proper clash jumper in the first place? One that solved the problem beyond a skerrick of a doubt, but which was also 'traditional-looking'?
Oh wait, they DO...
