Exactly what I was thinking when I heard the news. Moving clubs doesn't change anything, Ryder could still be suspended by ASADA.
Big risk to take. Particularly if you sign someone with that a known factor, you may have to pay them while they're suspended. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Punishments can be as low as a month if a player pleads guilty, and he'll then be able to go to any club he desires. Which is really punishing Essendon, which IMO, is what they want. They being ASADA, AFL, etc. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Essendon have just rejected Port's offer of pick 16 for Ryder. |

Me from another thread:
Quote: | Patrick Ryder.
Essendon are apparently saying they will not accept pick 16 from Port for him.
Brisbane were supposedly the team he wanted to get to, but he back flipped and has decided with the Power.
Now I know Ryder apparently wants to "get out of Victoria". But could Collingwood try to get in his ear as we can offer a much better pick than 16. (Assuming that we didn't have to use pick 8 on Moore, or at worst using pick 4 from the Lions). |
Ess would never send him our way. But we could easily trump Ports pick 16. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |
