Shortened quote in heading of this thread because it would'nt all fit in the line

Respected AFL list/draft analyst Brett Anderson from Inside Footall speaking on Sen program "One the Rise" this morning gave his thoughts on Collingwood future potential and said this

"They're an interesting one Collingwood , cause when I look at their list , I actually think outside of Hawthorn , they are the next Victorian premier , when you look at the breakdown of that list"

The list is good.

We all know that and it's why people aren't happy.

Queries on the coach getting the best out of that list remain.

He has one more season to prove he is that coach.

It's pretty simple really.

Even great players can look like spuds if they're badly coached. I'd argue that the list only looks good because the coach is doing exceptionally well, especially given the horrible injuries over the last three years.

Not many young coaches (read none) get to take over a side coming off back to back GF appearances.

He inherited a great list with a core group of players only at the beginning of there prime.

No more excuses in 2015 for Bucks.

We simply have to improve in all areas.

^ Yes, next year is make or break for Bucks, if he has a full list, and little injuries, we can only improve from here. !

I don't even care if we miss finals next year (well...), but as long as we show promise, learn from our previous mistakes.. and some sort of beneficial game plan, I'll stop bagging the coaching staff. Promise.

1986 the recently retired Leigh Matthews was signed up as an assistant coach to Bob Rose and he had zero experience as a coach. After just three rounds as an assistant he took over as senior coach. Four season's later....

90' was a funny year, honestly I feel like we were the 'best of a bad bunch' (not that I'm complaining).

lol hardly, in '12 core seniors where done, jolly, didak, davis, brown, Krak where all done, ball had peaked.

Our competitive advantage had been eroded, rules had changed.

Buckley's biggest fault is he is not selfish enough, a good hard look at the list and in '12 you could tell we wouldn't have got there in '13, and Buckley has taken the mid-to long term route. you could argue he has done a better job of this rebuild than MM did after '03 and it wasn't until MM's job was on the line and he was looking down the barrel of being sacked that he got us to the Premiership. he got selfish.

Pendlebury, Cloke, Beams, Reid, Sidebottom, Brown, Dawes, Wellingham, Shaw, Goldsack, Macaffer, Lumumba, Toovey, Thomas and Blair.

Nah he didn't inherit much in 2012.

oh you're of the "Dynasty at the top" type, do you seriously think if MM was there we would have made the next GF? we where getting out run by the end of '12 with every team, even geelong who held out, adopting our burst-rest rotation use of the pine, our game plan was exposed and countered.

of that list you'd think that there is only half of real x-factor class. the rest have proven to be honest toilers who played their role while in the side. this doesn't necessarily mean they were out and out stars.

I think what this guy means is that we'll be the next Victorian team winning a flag once Hawthorn's dominance is over.

Honestly, I can think of a few that'd be ahead of us. But yeah, hope he's right.
