I regret to say that a change of club would probably do him good—he'd hold down a spot easily at pretty much any club in the competition. Would be a tragedy to lose him, though.

Sounds like some posters here are already on speed, possibly ICE.

Managers just doing their job. Methinks premature speculation

I hope he stays but we'd be silly to even try to match 400K.

Agree, love the bloke, but he might be worth more to Port than to us.

He's a hard working, classy B Grader. If Port have a deal on the table like has been reported then I'd hope we're not matching it. I'd hate to see him go, but I'd hate even more to pay overs for B graders and have it bite us on the arse in a couple of years when we're trying to re-sign kids onto their 2nd or 3rd contracts.

2nd rounder after our pick would be fine.

I'm with you guys. Great guy and has been good for us. But he's not our future and certainly not worth 400k.

Don't pay overs for mids, unless their absolute elite like Judd, or is the final piece of the flag contending puzzle. You can draft a mid and within a year contributing well to the team.

Key Position player please, preferably a forward.

Isn't this just standard practice when a player is negotiating with his club.

Dangerfield is elite.

The perfect Swan replacement.

One can dream and hope.

Its not the money by the way. he wants a 3 to 4 year deal. He is 27 years old and wants some security. has only been offered a 2 year deal.

Seriously why wouldn't you give someone like Goldy 3 years especially with how we are at the moment. Our next big defender has gone with a knee, Goldy has versatility and gives it his all every time.

I am perplexed with CFC at the moment, first Ball shown the door and now they want commit to Goldy. This club is losing me and others very fast.

How much do you think Goldsack is worth?Do you think $300,000 is about right?

Would be a great move for Goldy if it happens and of course it would be sad to see him go. Port are thereabouts for a flag and he could be a really handy player for them. By the time we are challenging, he will be about 30 and you'd suspect his spot in the team would be pretty vulnerable at that stage of his career. His major asset is of course his pace and tackling, which would have diminished come 30. This way he could likely end up a 2 time premiership player - possibility more.

Yes and as I said he just wants 3 years. he is not asking for 420+, he wants 3 years, port have offered that.

geez a few here are quick to pot the bloke when all he wants is some security. I'm not surprised anymore that players up and leave considering the club shows no loyalty at all to the players who brought them success.

I was really surprised by Jolly, I am more surprised by Ball considering our stocks are dwindling (one more year in ball) and now Goldy.

The ship is sinking and the retarded Captain in intent on sailing into a maelstrom, so why bother staying. Good luck Goldy.
