Anyone know what's up with Seedsman.

I see him as the only guy in the team who can break lines, run, and kick long, yet we would apparently prefer to play Armstrong, who, imo, hasn't got anything to offer.

Is he out of contract? If so, i have sure some astute recruiters from other clubs will be lining up.

Fitness, simple as that. And when he was in the team he was probably doing less than what Armstrong has - or perhaps more precisely, not being as efficient with the ball.

I think Sinclair showed last week that he is another one who can break the lines but he's obviously a midget so having Seedsman in will no doubt help.

Seeds came off zero pre-season and I think in that instance any injury during the season becomes doubly debilitating in terms of fitness.

If someone knows better feel free to correct me.

Seedsman's had a bad year with injuries, but he's clearly a future star. You'd have to have rocks in your head to want to get rid of him.

Yup: basically, the Seed has had a horror year and barely got into the senior side when he did a couple of nice things but clearly wasn't fully up to speed. Then (if my memory is correct) he had another fairly minor injury. He's back playing in the twos now but unlikely to work up to full playing fitness and form before about the end of October. Not many AFL games played in October-November, so the Seed menu is a good pre-season and 2015.

As others have noted Seeds like a few other teammates has had a horror run with injuries.

Seeds's dash is great, his kicking is mostly very good however, his defensive skills aren't so great & he keeps on missing too many shots for goal when he does break the lines.

He is nowhere near being a star in my view but Seeds does have a very good skill set. I'm yet to be convinced he has done enough yet about the two glaring deficiencies: conversion & defensive skills.

Having said that let me say this: men & women of Australia, sorry let me say this: he's young & has a few games under his belt. Barring injury his attributes should augur well for his future development.

I'm not impressed. As a defender he plays slack and loose too often. If he doesn't eradicate that from his game he will end up like a former Collingwood winger and half back with great kicking skills who couldn't cope when the pressure was on and getting in over the ball was required.

I've made the same comparison.

The kid is NOT a natural defender.
Play him to his strengths and he'll be a good player - allow the opposition to exploit his weaknesses by playing him out of position and he won't make it.

They'll ruin him by making him play as a medium sized defender - as they did to that other guy you're referring to.

I guess he is a natural winger and it would be good for the team if he was developed with that in mind. Given Buckley's propensity for trying to hammer square pegs into round holes, I'm not so confident that will happen.

^100% agree.

(We can't blame Buckley for ruining Ryan Lonie though can we?? I think I can remember Malthouse playing him on Pavlich one day!!)
