Another death - 89 years old. Wonderful actress.

"You know how to whistle" as enunciated by Lauren Bacall must be the sexiest line in any movie ever. Obliquity, in the right hands, is far sexier than sex. There was also something very attractive about the way she accepted ageing with toughness and honesty, without all the cosmetic surgery that Hollywoodistes use nowadays. A great woman. Vale.

The 3 noted in the OP are a pretty good start. Despite the clumsy & confusing plot a times in the Big Sleep (mark 2) it's still a good film - lots of controversy involved at the time. Great example of film noir.
