Iron Maiden have just announced a tour of every continent except Antartica (sorry, Pingu) for next year. There will be dates in "Australasia" (sorry, New Zealand). Dates will be released in September.
I'm hoping for Tame Impala as the support act. |

I'm no heavy metal enthusiast - but I do like a well-performed tune of just about any genre, so I admire the technical execution of the music. I probably won't go to see Iron Maiden (my son will, though) but I will go to see Megadeth and I did go to see Dreamtheater last year. I thought the Iron Maiden announcement was worth mentioning because there are probably quite a few people on Nick's for whom this will be very welcome news.
I've always enjoyed seeing the electric guitar played with extreme precision and technical perfection, and at great volume - these guys tick both boxes, so they are OK by me.
My favourite instrument of all, though, is the Bechstein EN-280 concert grand - but that's not really a discussion for this thread, since no-one would ever be stupid enough to try to play Iron Maiden numbers on one - well, at least not until Maiden start doing Liszt covers. |

You won't need to get quite so cold to avoid them, Mugwump. I think you'll find that they'll go continent by continent, so careful planning and well-scheduled travel will keep you out of their hemisphere for the duration. |

Saw them live last time they came to Aus. Damn good show. I took my son to it who was just 18 at the time, he'd never seen so many beards, mullets and flannelette shirts in one place ever (no show in SA so half of Adelaide had flown over) _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

We do need better border controls on our western frontier, I think. |

They're not fans, PTID - those are drummers turning up to audition for Lars' job. |

And another, this time on the Bosendorfer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIJPxxoF7dw
I should, perhaps, say that I would strongly recommend lighter footwear - those boots do nothing for her pedalling technique. |

Just bought The Book of Souls. A tour announcement and a new 2-CD set with a deluxe booklet in the same week. Who'd have thunk? |
