^ The first sign of creeping death is when a leader has to start saying stuff like that about himself. Can't be too long now.

Great article there by Waleed Aly, Morrigu. His criticism of Shorten is spot on—all we're headed towards is short-term governments with no vision or substantial policy.

If only the Greens could hurry up and become a major party.

God help us if they do become a major party! Rolling Eyes

That's not to say the major parties are any better but the Greens are not much better either.

When the moron who is supposed to be a treasurer is buoyant about our $ being at .76 USD and is telling businesses to employ people you know we have a problem. Business and Consumer confidence is at an all time low.
Highest unemployment Rate in 12 Years. The Born to Rule Party are so arrogant they are Ruling, not Governing.

They won't be happy until we are like any other 3rd world country when our major business income is tourism and we are all begging on the streets.

Christmas Retail Sales figures are to be release shortly let's see what comes out of that?

Reckless stupidity from Christopher Pyne and the government. When even Cory Bernardi is distancing himself from you, you know you've put your foot in it.

http://m.smh.com.au/national/education-minister-christopher-pynes-science-job-threat-backfires-with-senator-cory-bernadi-and-crossbenchers-furious-at-tactic-20150315-144jnf.html

I'll leave the last word to Nick Xenophon:

Quote:
Independent Senator Nick Xenophon deplored the government's approach as "toxic, reckless politics at its worst".

"Memo to Christopher – you're not in student politics any more," Senator Xenophon said. "The research fund and the university reform should never have been linked in the first place," he said.

The anti-science, anti-knowledge, anti-productivity Taliban have struck again!

some genius wrote:
"I'm supportive of the policy because it's a great opportunity for people on low incomes to gain a low-cost no-frills degree".

But Senator Day added he was supporting the policy on merit and "not because of the threat".

"Are your parents too poor and therefore immoral for you to deserve a serious education?"

"Well, we've got just the thing for you! Don't pay thousands of dollars for a fancy degree that is recognized internationally. For just 10 payments of $19.99 a month, you can meet the most important requirement facing young people today: Telling people at parties that you have a degree!"
