First thing I do after the fixture is announced is look up what games are on fta. Then I contemplate whether I get a subscription to fox and then it hits me like a ton of bricks. It's exactly what the bastards want you to do. So out of spite I won't be going down that track of subscribing ill just happily listen on line and post abusive comments on the live game thread. It's much more fun. Laughing

I suspect that the FTA broadcaster would get first say about which games they broadcast. Odds are that if they weren't on Foxtel that they wouldn't be on at all.

Rubbish, this is how it works, C7 can only show games in certain timeslots (Friday night-Saturday arvo/night-Sunday), the AFL fixture us to play 4.30 on a Sunday meaning C7 can't show the game, why do you think we've suddenly started getting that slot? It's all about giving Foxtel a leg up.

don't know why foxtel would want Collingwood games anyway, its not like they have anything good to say about us and if you do happen to see one of their games ya would think that we didn't turn up anyway as their call is so one sided

Try living on the NSW north coast. We even miss a lot of FTA games in favour of blockbusters like Lions v Suns, or Swans v Giants. And no, I can't afford Foxtel. Nevermind, there are more serious things in life...

It's not just Foxtel who benefit, the AFL live app would be making a killing as well.

A big part of the last rights deal was Foxtel getting more "blue chip" games. That's the reason why Collingwood is being shown more on Foxtel, not because FTA doesn't want them or no one wants to watch. Seriously, in what world does that even make sense?

Not sure why you're quoting me, it's pretty much exactly what I said.

That's not a fair comment. Collingwood doesn't determine how many of its games are on Foxtel, the A.F.L determines that.

It's a double whammy for us, we get less exposure due to this new broadcast deal, and our crowds are being affected from being scheduled to play in graveyard slots, yet not a whimper from Edd, it makes me wonder, we're obviously getting something out of it.
