I've got no idea if the changes make us a better team than last week.
Only a few hours to find out.
Here's hoping they give it a red hot crack, take the game on and restore some confidence better team play to ultimately produce a much needed win. _________________ woodsmen rule |

Magpie hater Lloyd just tipped Port easily, basically dismissed us as no chance whatsoever, so would love to ram it up his perfumed steamroller arse. ! Love being the Underdog anyway, suits us fine. ! _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Can you blame him?
The main thing going in our favour today is that Port have gone off the boil the last 6 weeks or so as well.
Sadly I still fancy them to repsond better than us today and win.
Hoping for the best but hope is about all I've got left with this side which has dished up some rubbish football the last 8 weeks.
Make no mistake it's our GF today in more ways than one.

^ Lloyd had it in for us from the moment the season opened, begrudgingly gave us a bit of credit for beating North and Swans, but now back to his hate best, he has form. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

I think Adelaide last week were stiffer competition than Port will be this week. We almost got up against the Crows so we should be a strong chance against Port. Their forward line is not as dangerous, so that will not be the main factor this week, it will be their run which we'll have difficulty matching. _________________ Well done boys! |

If we can stop their mid field and run from the back line we have some chance. Their forward line isn't so good but then neither is our back line. Hope is a wonderful thing and if you strive you create your own chances. We have a home ground advantage so hopefully that will count for something. I don't think we are a certainty by any means but we have a chance, and in football as in life, that is all you need. _________________ "Only the weak believe that what they do in battle is who they are as men" - Thomas Marshall - "Ironclad". |

Depends on which Port Adelaide shows up.
They were flying 6 weeks back, on top of the ladder and looking a premiership threat. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

I'm not overly impressed by our inclusions apart from Fasolo who's too good for the VFL considering the quality he has. Dwyer is also a reliable performer but nothing special so he's not a huge upgrade from Martin who I felt deserved another chance despite an ordinary game last week.
Congratulations to Tony Armstrong for making the senior side but I don't have any expectations that he'll do anything good today. I really hope he can prove me wrong and play a blinder for the Pies. If what I saw in the pre-season is anything to go by, then I'll be staggered if he produces something special in the senior side during the Home and Away season. I'm still mind-boggled by how Armstrong is playing in the senior side but good luck to the kid, I really hope he can prove me wrong.
Langdon has been struggling for a while which is understandable for his first year in the AFL system and the fact that he's still a young kid. He's got a bright future on his hands despite the omission. Surprised about Young being dropped but I guess Buckley wanted to make a statement that no passengers would be tolerated this week.
This is not going to be an easy match and while the Port Adelaide players are quite ordinary individually speaking they are an excellent team with an effective game plan led by Ken Hinkley. Hinkley has outsmarted Buckley twice last year so I really hope Buckley can outdo this time round but with our overall form I really do struggle to see us winning. Port aren't playing good football either but we're worse at the moment. I think Port is going to win but I'd love to be proven wrong today.
Hopefully the Pies pull off a surprise today! About to head off now. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |
