It's horrendous. Hearing the natural crowd noise after a goal was beautiful until this loud-o-meter kills all of that!

The club should get rid of it on top of the bloody dance troupe who are embarrassing to watch and the kiss, hug and dance cams. I'm sick of this crap to 'enhance' match-day experience.

-
When the play is at the other end of the ground I reference the screen to see what is happening. What I get to watch is advertising, ground announcements, images of idiots who would rather get their mug shots on the screen instead of watching the game, twitter comments from feck twits and a bunch of other crap I have no interest in.

When considering the game schedule it would seem that they are doing everything possible to kill off the game day experience.

Eventually we will be replaced by crowd images superimposed for the TV viewers and the loud-o-meter in an effort to simulate atmosphere.

However the kids seem to have fun with it.

Problem is it drowns out any actual human support and importantly totally stops any momentum a crowd chant is gathering before it rudely butts in.

GET RID OF IT!

NOW!

We all understand that Collingwood is looking for more inventive ways of giving our sponsors greater exposure but the "Holden Loud-O-Meter"!!????!. Please..

I can recall travelling to Adelaide to play Port Adelaide in the 2002 Qualifying Final. After every Port goal a knucklehead came onto the P.A. literally barracking for the Power and imploring the 3000 or so Port Adelaide fans in the crowd to "make some noise for our boys". After returning to Melbourne I heard Eddie on the radio expressing his outrage at this and screaming that it was "not football" and that "we don't need that American crap in our game".

Well Ed, now's your chance to stand up for your members in the outer who, as a group are screaming at you (probably, in part because we've lost our hearing from the "Loud-O-Meter") "get rid of that crap, we don't need it in our game and we sure as hell don't need it at Collingwood!"

When I can't hear the person next to me due to this intrusive manufactured nonsense then this corporate device has gone way too far.

This is another layer of noise being amplified through speakers intruding on our viewing / watching / barracking at the footy.

Part of the corporatization of footy.

Why the F do I want to hear what SEN has got to say? I want to hear what the person next to me is saying or simply enjoy just being there (well when we're winning)

The advertising is way too loud & far too intrusive.

The VFL is looking seriously more inviting in many respects.

I'm not going to take it any longer, I....

It's almost the final straw, the last insult to us genuine "Collingwood people".

Where does passionate lifelong support come from??
It's passed down by generation. Lose us and you lose our kids and so on........

The bad news is it is only going to get worse it seems

http://www.canberratimes.com.au/digital-life/digital-life-news/aussies-help-bring-tweets-and-photos-to-the-really-big-screen-in-glasgow-20140728-zwtkc.html

The next time youre at a stadium for a concert or sporting event, you may find a message or photo you tweeted or posted on Instagram plastered across the big digital screens for all to see.

Interactive video games and polls are also about to become front and centre on the big screens, allowing concertgoers and sports enthusiasts to divert their attention from the main event during breaks to play games - or vote on who they believe might win - with their smartphones.

Meanwhile Lime Rocket, also based in Sydney, is bringing "massively social" games to the big screens.

"We have a proof of concept game that can handle 100,000 people at once," Mr Gardiner said.
"Thats one of our end goals - to see 80,000 people in a large stadium playing a game before kickoff."

So, what is this, exactly? Some bizarre form of supply and demand, or people being paid to come up with "good ideas"?

As counterintuitive as it might seem, I wonder if it might be part of a long-term plan to jack up prices: people might not be keen to pay $40 just to see a regular football game, but if they're told it's all part of a "deluxe entertainment package", perhaps the AFL will be able to justify it? "Those dancers don't pay for themselves, you know!"

Whoever implemented this monstrosity, does not get "Collingwood".

This is no longer the Collingwood I grew up with. I'm sick of the way the club has been hijacked by the corporate set and seems to be run by Gen Y know-nothings. Evil or Very Mad

The AFL in a Whole is the same.

I call it Coperate Footy

A degree in marketing does not mean you are good at marketing.

These reckless people have ruined the connection people felt to the club.
Eddie, Gary, you really need to step in and do something before you lose all of us.

Agree. The People in Marketing have no idea what so ever.

They are more Likely to Drive Members away from the Club with this Crap
