Tooves the latest to get injured on a Friday training session before our match.
This must be around 6 injuries on a Friday training session in a row.
Surely the Friday session is just a light session? How are so many players getting injured during our last session of the week? |

Alan Toovey has been withdrawn from Collingwood’s starting line-up ahead of Sunday’s crunch match against Adelaide.
The reliable backman, who has missed just one game this season, aggravated his back during Friday’s training session at Olympic Park. |

It's happening far too much.I could be wrong, but you don't seem to see this happening at other clubs,at least not to the extent that it's happening at Collingwood. |

How do know if he wasn't injured earlier on in the week.

I often wonder how many of these "Friday trading session injuries" are guys who are already doubtful who just don't come up. |

If this is the case, then why would the club tell us otherwise? Why not say they pulled up a little sore from earlier in the week & didn't come up? It makes no sense to say it happened on Friday if it didn't. |

Exactly.....so you either question the cloke and dagger stance of the club or you question the conditioning staff.
My money is on the conditioning / medical staff and it really feels after around four years of rubbish seasons with injury and injury time frames it's gone beyond bad luck.
Overhaul at seasons end and strip it bare.....maybe even have a look at our fitness guys while their at it.
Can't win grand finals with these kind of injury runs ( and for the "perceptive fellow"), you can't coach a team to a grand final with them either. I don't mean to knee jerk on the issue, but by the sounds of Buckley on 360 the other night, the clubs thinking may be along similar lines. _________________ No Pressure, No Diamonds

Brendan McCartney was on the ABC the other week and thought he made an interesting observation that fitness staff take a season to settle, get to know the individual players, and structure personalized training programs. There is some trial and error in that first season. Not saying it's the reason we've had so many injury issues but McCartney has been around for a while at multiple clubs and is no mug. He was talking about Cordy assuming the job at the Doggies but the point can be generalized. |

Not as convinced there's a deliberate attempt at subterfuge. Final test happens Friday before the game so it's hardly a hanging offense to not dispute a Friday training injury. Could be as much about what they don't say and media interpreting the information. There isn't a team in the league that does keep their cards close to the chest. |

Bucks indicated on AFL360 that they're concerned about the injuries and will review at seasons end so our frustrations are shared by the club. |

def concerns with our training / conditioning methods, as Buckley has said so himself & that he wants some answers. For him to say that on more than one occasion in a public forum tells you that the club also isn't happy with the number of injuries occurring during training. |
