Eade has said that in this years draft period we will be looking to go after some quicker players, finally conceding we are a pack of turtles. Specifically another quick midfielder and forward. Moore is a lock-in, and has a bit of toe about him for his size. Add a couple of more pacy players in whether it be through trade or draft and hopefully we are on our way to rectifying this problem.

This has already been a focus:

Freeman, Kennedy, Sinclair, Seedsman, Broomhead, Elliott, Young, Armstrong, Mooney, Marsh

Yep, add Williams and Frost to that group. Been a solid shift from the "best available" to "best available with pace" recruiting philosophy.

I'd rather some players who can kick.

Couldn't agree with you more, doesn't matter how quick they are if they can't kick.
Pies4shaw nobody injects speed anymore, IV ice use is all the rage.

Why, so they can sit on the side line for a season.

Agreed. Hawks not super quick but move it efficiently with skill. Need a blend with one or two carriers in the mould of Smith and Hill at Hawthorn, Rohan, Shaw and Jetta at Sydney etc who are capable of breaking the lines.

Pace and disposal aren't mutually exclusive. Broomhead for example. If you look at the recruiting under Buckley you'll notice a strong emphasis on good users of the footy, Marsh the obvious exception although he was showing improvement.

Good decision makers with good disposal.

Pace alone is overrated.

Recruit footballer, not athletes. Stuff beep tests and vertical jumps and just get a handball target out there and line up players from 20m and tell them to kick 5 bulls-eyes on both feet.

What? Something like the kicking test Bucks developed for the AFL draft camp?

Not sure if injecting speed is a good idea.

Usually works best smoked or taken in pill form so I'm told
