Announced he is retiring at the end of the year. I know we have had Huddo for a couple of years now as ruck coach, but surely we should inquire as to the availability of Coxy. I couldn't think of anyone better for Grundy and Wittsy's development than the best ruckman of the modern era.

I'm not sure where his home town is, if it's WA I wouldn't imagine him leaving for a ruck coach gig, might depend on the coin offered.

Hails from Dampier up north in WA. Can't see any possible reason for him to want to leave WA at this stage of life, you'd think he'd be pretty well set up over there.

I'd rather we show some loyalty to Hudson should he wish to continue in a coaching role next season.

Exactly. If Witts and Grundy can bring the same intensity to their ruck work as Huddo we'll do very nicely thank you very much. I'm hoping Huddo might even be retained on the VFL list as a "break glass in case of emergency" backup, assuming the bodies up to it of course. Think he'd enjoy blowing the cobwebs out occasionally.

Either way Kudos to a great player. There ain't many modern great ruck men like yesteryear but he is one. Well done Coxy.

Best Ruckman of the last 10 years by a fair margin.
