Post subject: Our A graders in 3 years time? | |
|
Assuming the usual notion that a Premiership team needs about 6 A graders, I thought I'd look into my crystal ball and predict who, of our young crop of players, are likely to fit the bill.
Apart from Pendles, Beams, Cloke and (possibly Sidebottom), I confidently predict the emergence if these A graders:
Elliott
Broomhead
Grundy
Witts
Scharenberg
Freeman
As well, we should have several other top line players including:
Seedsman
Langdon
Frost
Williams
Adams
Kennedy
Karnezis
That's a fantastic foundation for our Premiership chances going forward.
PS. With all the gloom and doom around Nicks at present, I thought I'd put up my optimistic forecast. |

impressively optimistic to name two players as future a graders before they have shown us they can run to the milk bar without hurting themselves......
I also think its sad that in your mind the future a graders are the ones that haven't really had a chance to prove it one way or the other (note that you appear to realize that we are grooming a lot of second tier players). _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk .......

I would take Cloke out straight away. He'll only decline from this point in his career. Will be 28 before the start of 2015 and the type of game he plays will take its toll - shoulders most likely. Happens to all big CHF's.
If half of the boys mentioned become top line AFL players and the other half become our mid tier players, then we have a bright future. What is lacking is a couple of good KP forwards. Our future could be Bulldogsesque is we don't get a good forward. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

SO bloody refreshing to read a positive thread on Nick's
Agree with all predictions except that I would swap Freeman with Langdon. I reckon Langdon is going to mirror Clement's career. |

Agree, although I'd have Reid among our current A graders. |

Add Reid to RB's list and you have 18 pretty handy footballers (hopefully).
That does leave Fasolo, Macaffer, Goldsack, Lumumba, Blair, Brown, White, Keeffe, Thomas, Sinclair, Ramsay, Toovey, Oxley, Marsh, Martin, Yagmoor, Gault, and Mooney from the current list as a group you would find our bottom 6 from. Which 6 would you prefer us to rate.
Oh, and there is some kid named Moore who might join us in 2015. Apparently he can play a bit.
And huge Cox of course. |

Elliott and Langdon. The others are very speculative, though I have some quiet confidence about Witts. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |
