Just wondering if anyone is watching The Recruit on Fox 8?

I haven't got Foxtel, but I just checked out the website. I watched a couple of the contestants profile videos. One of them is Nathan Jackel from Rockbank. It showed footage of him training with Collingwood. I assume it was with the VFL guys because you can see Dylan Orval in the background.

Does anyone know of him?

I watched the first episode the other night. Could be a good show, it's a bit early to tell. I noticed Nathan Jackel because he wears a black and white jumper in all the training events. That = instant favourite. Smile

I watched the first episode. Not bad.

i didn't focus highly on the detail because
a) I was being interrupted and
b) it's a reality TV show which should require the same brain power and concentration to absorb as that of a semi sentient mollusc.

Looks like a few of them have trained with the VFL side.

I'm guessing based on our track record with the Irish players, NSW scholarship program and category 2 rookies we may be involved rather heavily in this concept.

Friend of mine knows him from Werribee, I did a quick search and found a couple of articles http://www.melton.starweekly.com.au/story/1671250/ballarat-fl-day-of-the-jackel-as-darley-downs-bacchus-marsh/opinion

I'm hoping Daniel Johncock from South Launceston does well.

Johncock got a clearance from Marby Lions (club he was at during the shows filming by the looks of his Marby training singlet) to a club in Adelaide... gawler i think. That happened in June so i recon he didnt progress much further?

Marby is coached by Brodie Holland and has has Medhurst and Russell Robertson play games for them this season.

I guess that would be the case then.

Someone from where I am a writer claims to have an interview lined up with the winner of the series, so some there already know who ha won I don't though.

I reckon Bradie Foster of Johann Wagner will probably win it.

Foster is a ruckman, while Wagner is a key forward. It's hard to imagine a midfielder would win a competition to get onto an AFL list.

Jackel, would fit in well at Collingwood being a 170cmer. But he does have pace.

How does it work that the winner is guaranteed a spot on an AFL list?

^ I wondered the same thing. How does it work within draft and salary cap regulations?

They said that the AFL had changed the rules to accommodate. Keep watching and all will be revealed.
