Blair had 24% more game time than Martin for 4 more disposals (18-14).
Martin had really poor disposal efficiency of 50% for this game which is a shame given he's considered a good user of the ball at VFL level.
I suspect that will improve greatly once he's more composed at this level.
Blairs efficiency wasn't that stellar either at a touch above 61%. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

^^Also, Blair had 5 clearances to Martin's 0, and 6 tackles to Martin's 4.
Still, I don't think either played a role that we'd like to see them in long term, even though Blair did quite well in a difficult situation. _________________ Well done boys! |

The big decision will be whether he gets a run next week. |
thats right a half a game is enough to judge
kicked a goal which is more than what blair got |
Blair kicked 2 goals |
Blair kicked 1.1. I think but point is valid, thought Blair was one of our better players. You're just not going to stop the hate. |

This is the hardest thing our players have to deal with when coming from the VFL to the AFL. The likes of Kennedy & Martin play midfield in the VFL & then when they get the call up, they have to play a role they haven't been used to playing. Same with Adams. We wacked him in the backline. Thank goodness today he played as an inside mid. |
The problem is Martin's not an in the guts player at senior level. He weighs what, 77kg? Pushed off the ball very easily tonight. At senior level he's either a forward pocket where he doesn't have the skill or pace to be much more than a defensive forward like Blair, or as an outside midfield runner like Sidebottom, and when you don't have pace, you need to be very good and an elite runner to play this role.
At this stage it's probably not going to hurt to keep him in, but I don't see a big future at senior level. Being another slow, short player I don't see how he actually improves our team. |
That's why Dwyer was continually getting picked ahead of him. Quicker and more creative. Hopefully Martin gets a few games to prove us all wrong. |

Was no surprise to see Martin struggle a bit yesterday, it'll take time to adjust to the pace and his new team mates, I thought Blair was very good, I had him in our bests, he did a lot of little things that didn't record a stat. _________________ Defender...........

Hope they give KM the rest of the year to evaluate.
I also had Blair in the votes yesterday but still too inconsistent. |

Blair played his best game in quite a while I thought.
Martin did some nice things but clearly struggled with the tempo at AFL level. Worth persevering with for the next couple of weeks. |

I would like to see Martin get a chance for the rest of the year because that will help see if we keep him or not next year |

Give Kyle a chance to find his feet.
Blair covered him yesterday no doubt, but hardly a fair comparison when one has been playing seniors tempo all season.
No doubt guys like Adams, Kennedy, Martin have all struggled to find the tempo of senior football as they have come in. Doesn't mean they won't make it. _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

Martin deserves another shot at it and he was far from our worst last night. |

I wouldn't mind knowing who you think was our worst last night.
I wanted him to get a shot, and I want him to have another one after last night, but be honest, he was awful last night. _________________ "We ain't gotta dream no more" |
