I'm tipping one of those to be out for Martin. Almost certain to be Thomas or Blair. |
Martin is listed as 180cm so he's the tallest of the lot of them.
If he doesn't get selected this week then it's a disgrace.
Sorry Lazza but that's just how I feel.
No surprise Blair is the one who should be dropped for mine with Thomas the sub.
Hopefully both Kennedy and Martin to start in the 21.
In:Reid, Elliott, Keeffe, Martin and Broomhead.
That's what I'm hoping for at 6:45pm tonight. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Yes, Bucks won't want to many goal kickers playing, Elliot has already kicked to many goals this year, he has to go. |
I just fail to see the point of such negative, sarcastic comments. Just adds nothing and really discouraging to read when one opens up the forum and hopes to find some constructive or enlightening commentary. |
Welcome, such is life according to the "perceptive fellow" book. The ONLY thing to do is to continue to challenge and confront such negative and pessimistic posts and posters. This IS a discussion board, NOT a board for funeral services, appreciations and notices each bloody week.... |

I fully support your opinion dude. We'll wait and see but I agree with you that Martin has seemingly done enough to at least be close to senior selection. |

I think it's more about selecting players who are available. I agree that there are players getting games that you would hope would be forced out by others with better skills but with up to a 3rd of the list sitting in the medical room or recovering from LTIs your options are limited. |

There must be at least four, maybe five, changes tonight, we need to freshen up the side, Keefe, Elliott are montys, hopefully Reid too, time to roll the dice, staid safety will get us nowhere. Who Dares Wins, as the SAS motto goes, so lets DARE !! _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

That's very true and why the last two seasons have been so unbelievably frustrating. |

Given the Age article lets assume 5 changes, Reid,Keefe,Elliott, Broomhead and at long last Martin.
Who goes out, obviously Swan, Maxwell, then it's a lottery my best guess is Blair, Young and it's a toss between Adams and Thomas |

Quote: | Unfortunately those negative-sarcastic comments have meaning, and how does it add nothing? This is a discussion board, not a groupie site, 3 or 4 times we've gone over an hour of game time without scoring a goal this year, during those periods we've employed 2 defensive forwards (you know forwards are the guys who are supposed to kick the majority of our goals, don't you?)
You fail to see a lot of things I'm afraid, open your eyes.
Our star studded midfield gets reamed by an Ablettles GC side whilst being 100% depleted and what does our great coach do? He drops a key defender and replaces him with Maxy, you can't make this shit up.
Our home game against the GC 2 years ago, he just let Gary run rampant, we won the game comfortably but ****, why would you let the greatest player of all time to run loose? He was the one player who could make a difference that day.
Round 2: GC home game the following year, he does the same again, Gary went in dry against us, what does our great coach say? "But it worked last time" lol, I for one have seen enough of Buckleys coaching abilities.
He was a great player, he's a great bloke, but he can't coach for shit.
Please, don't get me started. |
|
Quote: | Malthouse never (or very seldomly) used a tagger.
Remember back to the 2010 prelim. Ablett got 40+ and was arguably BOG yet we still thrashed them and Abletts brilliance didn't influence the result of the game one whit.
So you're saying Malthouse can't coach either because he backed his midfield ahead of the oppositions? Pretty clear Buckley shares or shared a similar philosophy but has changed his views somewhat with MaCaffer getting a tagging assignment every week now.
|
Not the same thing, Geelong had a smorgasbord of champions, the first 2 times we played the CG Ablett was pretty much the only one who could take the game away from us, and he did on one of those occasions. |
Chris Judd at Carlton in 2008 and first up 2009 is a better example then.
He was the Scums only elite midfielder at that time (Murphy was a kid then) and was left unchecked and destroyed us each time. A vastly inferior Carlton side rolled us 3 consecutive times with a little help from Fev in one or two of those games but Judd was the catalyst.
Tagging star opposition mids was just something Malthouse and to begin with Buckley rarely did. Thankfully Buckley has at least attempted to address that this year with Caff. |

I reckon Young will be retained despite Bucks' clear petulance towards him in the Bummers loss. I think at the moment despite his horror kicking efficiency Adams is offering more than Thomas, especially as Bally's output has dropped. In fact after looking at his stats in the Bummers game I'm convinced Adams is no chance to be dropped.
Reckon your ins are spot on. Interesting that no-one has mentioned Grundy but it's hard to see where he fits from a team balance point of view so no great surprise I guess.
My call on the outs .. Maxy, Swan, Thomas, Blair & maybe a shock omission of Seedsman (assuming Young remains in) or Harry O.
Can't wait for 6.25pm to find out!
