We've turned Carlisle into a champion, just like we did with Hawkins. |
Hawkins still has the best origin story, being a Grand Final and all. Carlisle's is only good from an Essendon perspective, where he found his powers against an undersized and injured Collingwood former captain playing his last game . _________________ Well done boys! |

It's not like they weren't both pretty handy footballers anyway, all on us! |
lol, carlisle a champeen. four goals against us and eight against an inconsistent up and comer. yep, a champeen after two ok games. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

Amazing what a committed team and positive mindset can achieve.
It was a total team effort by the Saints and proves that if you get everyone contributing then great things can happen.
Freo were smashed by a team that wanted it more, pure and simple and this could feasibly cost them top 4 as this was supposedly the "easiest" game of their soft run home.
Memo to Nathan Buckley. The role Riewoldt (who is an out and out champion) played today is what we should be aiming for from Trav. Let him roam and gut run and he'll blow 9/10 defenders up and that's when the mismatches will occur when he burns the lumbering defenders off and they try and cover him with the smaller quicker backs. He bloody monsters them.
If Reid's leg is right for 4 quarters he plays and plays forward close to goal as does Jesse White as the versatile 3rd tall. Bring is Martin, play Kennedy as our small forward with Elliott and suddenly we've got a bloody dangerous multi pronged forward line. This line up will give the opposition something to think about instead of the standard modus operandi of double team Cloke and watch Collingwood fluff, fumble and **** around near goal.
The time is past for sticking with proven failures. The season is on the line and I've got a feeling this season is the most open we've had in years (Sydney aside every team has shown wobbles of late) so it's imperative that you get in the finals as this could be the year a bottom of the top 8 side does the impossible and takes a flag.
And my fellow Pies fans instead of bitching about the time next weeks game is on, why don't we all get to the G in force and give the Crows a taste of the hostility our boys faced on their dung hill earlier this year. Let them face the jeers, scorn and contempt from a fired up Magpie Army and let our boys feel the passion, love and support that was once taken for granted and needs to return.
I'd be disappointed if we don't have 50,000+ there and I'm not joking.
Me, Mr's Flashy and the billy lids will be there for this season defining, make or break game. I urge everyone to suck it up and get their backside down to the MCG for our boys. Who gives a shit if it's at an inconvenient time? It's time we made the effort to support our side just as we expect them to make the effort to win games and bring greatness to our club.
GO THE PIES. |
Totally agree Flash... and Inkling
If we bring the passion and if we play a few of the kids in form we are a big chance at the G!
A few if's yes but a lot more likely than the Saints beating the Dockers by 10 goals!
I am backing Bux and the Pies to fire up! ( and the Magpie Army!!!)
Out: Maxwell, Swan, Blair, Young

Be daring Collingwood. Declare a changing of the guard.
Out: Maxy (ret), Ball (too slow), Young (too fragile), Blair (doesn't do enough), Thomas (a bit unlucky)
In: Reid, Elliott, Broomhead, Keeffe, Martin (sub)
And please, please, play Adams in the midfield where he is best. |

We will win this game by a small margin if:
1.) We have any pride in our performance.
2.) We refuse to lose 5 out of 6 (unprecedented in our modern history)
3.) Do not wish to be the first pies team in 10 years to miss the finals.
4.) Have any love for Maxy like the Saints have for Lenny.
5.) Crows turn up a bit complacent and/or not on their game 100%.
If we lose this game my faith in the club and team will be rocked to the point of unrecoverable cataclysmic apocalyptic depths. _________________ RED "BABY" CAVANAUGH: Didn't hear what the bet was.

THIS is a huge watershed match for the Pies, no bloody ifs, butts, maybes, we must win, for our pride, to make up for that terrible dons non effort, just bring grim determination, and win it for Maxy too.!!
MUST win, a must win. Pies by 22 points. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Biggest game we've played in a while (well I said the Bummers game was... but anyway).... the result of this match will have a huge effect on our season.
As it stands we're 8th. I'm going to presume that Gold Coast will be beat Brisbane... funnier things have happened but I'm presuming they do win.
If we win:
- Worst case draw level with Kangas & Bummers
- Possibly go past them on percentage if we win by enough
- Put 8 points between us and the Crows
- Go into the game against Port - who are almost struggling more than us with confidence.
Lose
- Out of the 8
- Almost finals place gone
- Confidence drops further
Like PNC.... MUST WIN. Let's start by actually turning up which we failed to do two weeks ago.... then if we tackle and pressure... then let's look at beating this mob.

People are always talking about how other teams are playing there grand final against us from week to week, well guess what this is ours for season 2014.
If the players, coaches and entire club can't find something extra for this match and grind out a win then we don't deserve to be playing finals and guess what we wont be.
Selection will tell the story for me of how seriously we are about stopping the rot.

Hows Q-Sticks broken leg traveling? Any danger of getting a game in a few weeks if White is still useless? _________________ ------------
