This is assuming we make the 8, I've based the games on us finishing anywhere from 6th to 8th.

Yes I know we have to make the 8first, you don't need to comment about that, it's a hypothetical sceneraio.

I've had a look at the fixture and have ordered the scenarios from most likely to least likely:

Port Adelaide v collingwood Adelaide oval
North melbourne v collingwood mcg
Fremantle v collingwood pattersons
Geelong v collingwood mcg.

Personally I think playing Port Away would be our best result which will also be most likely result. They are spent, we should get better I.e Reid and swan

Can't see Freo or Geelong falling out of the 4 so won't be an issue week 1.

Games against any of the other likely 5-8 teams aren't too daunting by comparison to playing top 4 sides. Essendon probably the toughest prospect on recent form. A lot will depend on how the other teams get through the next 4 rounds in terms of player availability and form.

WCEs this Sunday first.

Lets focus on making the 8 at the end of the season first, then we can talk who we'd like our opponents to be. Right now the draft and preseason training is what we're likely to face.

University.

But, failing that, I guess Norf will do.

if he didn't, he wouldn't be the first ...

if we make the finals, i don't think it will matter who we face. even if we get past week 1 we'll be up against it in week 2. even allowing for the fact that many pundits think anyone in the eight can win it this year the last few weeks has shown the gap between the top and bottoms teams.

I hope we play Norf, they hold no fear for me at all. Most likely is Port at AO though, so another EF loss is likely on the cards.

I hope we make finals. If we do not I will not be devastated. It will just be a reflection of where the team sits just now. What I hope is that the team gives it everything they have and if they go out go out trying hard.

If they do make finals every game they play n will give the youngsters great experience in playing in a final, so there is nothing to be lost and everything to be gained.

If they surprise me and go further than I anticipate, well what a bonus that would be and I will be dancing.

Just give it your all pies and do the best you can.

Either of Norf (soft as butter), Essendon (pay back) or Port Adelaide in Melbourne.

Then hopefully the weakest team in the top 8 (Geelong) the next week.

North at the MCG would be the best result we could hope for.

Port at home will be a more difficult assignment than last week.

North.

But will be happy just to make it. anything else is a bonus after this crap year. At least we'll have a "nothing to lose" mentality.

This week will be the game to determine if we make it. Beat WCE, we should be comfortable against Lions and GWS, which gives us 13 wins.

Although we've seen stranger things!
