Maybe one of the old VFA clubs that got spitroasted by the AFL could put their hands up for a stand alone gig. Something based in Melbourne Metro could work far better than out in Bendigo _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Country Teams would have No Hope of Surviving.
As you say Metro Clubs would at least stand a Chance _________________ I am Da Man |

maybe for next year the club could look at taking a home game to bendigo to fill the void. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

Sad news.
Hope they can get a win before they finish up... |
Shame they didn't hang on in Sunday's game. It was always nice having the Pies VFL team come to Bendigo for a game but unfortunately that now comes to a close. |

Poor scheduling and a lack of televised ABC games doesn't help. Play home games against Collingwood, Essendon, and Carlton early in the season and all of a sudden the coffers look a lot healthier. |

Yeah, I heard they were in front for the majority of the game. Didn't the Scum snatch a goal on the siren? That would have broken their hearts...
The worst part out of all this (for us, at least) is that the comp goes back to an odd number of teams next year, which means MORE BYES! Yippee... not. |

Yeah, but when they go back to the VFL, we'll have an odd number of AFL teams... And you have to wonder if they can be competitive even at that level. |

Very sad, trailed all day and hit the front with 1 second to play.
With an uneven number of teams it should still only mean 2x byes... shouldn't it? Please say yes! |

Wouldn't think so.
There were 13 teams in 2012, and with state league rep footy and the Foxtel Cup factored in, each team had 4 byes (plus a week off for the state game).
I imagine the VFL will adopt the same for 2015... |

was just a matter of time. what killed them was with the afl clubs taking over vfl clubs.
remember when they were the old bendigo pioneers (purple jumper, with slash of white and yellow dig/ancour) that team was a good team.
it will just be a matter of time before the vfl becomes it own league |
