Post subject: GWS game (Round 22) vs Gold Coast game (Round 16) | |
|
What a turn around in effort shown by the Pies in GWS game (Round 22) compared to Gold Coast game (Round 16).
Against Gold Coast we should have won.
Gold Coast lost 5 players to injury that night: Gary Ablett (shoulder), Charlie Dixon (calf), Trent McKenzie (hamstring) and Sean Lemmens (concussion). Gold Coast had no bench and no rotations for the final 20 minutes of the game, but somehow managed to kick goals on us and win by 5 points.
Almost a reverse last night.
Collingwood could have easily lost that game. We lost 3 senior players in the first half: Young, Swan, & McCaffer (1min into 3rd Quarter), and were down to 1 rotation for an entire half of football. Yet we out ran and out tackled them in the final quarter. Didn't give up.
That is the sort of effort we all want to see.
Great to hear the Coooooooollllngwooood chant last night in the final quarter too. _________________ Sydney Collingwood Supporters Club

There are too many variables between the two games and the teams involved for a reasonable comparison to be made. _________________ "Only the weak believe that what they do in battle is who they are as men" - Thomas Marshall - "Ironclad". |
