Sad, sad sad. The video to No Secrets was one of the greatest rock videos ever made - no glamour, no sets, just pure, demented black-and-white gothic panto-charisma. That scream when he picks up the bridge after the guitar solo still sends a thrill-chill down the spine. A true original, missed.

I grew up loving The Angels. Doc was awesome. Jump online and find the live recorded version of Take a Long Line when the man was in his prime.
My fave songs as a kid were definitely the classic pub rock items Coming Down, Mr. Damage, No Secrets and Shadow Boxer, but songs like Dawn is Breaking, Devil's Gate and Out of the Blue had a creepy allure about them.
But the great man's passing definitely brought the more sombre After the Rain to mind:
"Somebody save me
The water's rising
Sweet Jesus take the blame
Who knows whose star is falling
After the rain
After the rain"

Stui, i'm a bit late in paying my respects here.
The only time i saw The Angels play was during their acoustic tour in 1998, and they performed at Crown. Fantastic show, playing all the hits.
I remember MMM broadcast a lot of these live acoustic recordings at the time, but i never managed to tape them off the radio.
Might have Longline acoustic bootlegged somewhere though...
Vale the Doc. A most unique voice and character indeed.
