Always look forward to going down to Casey each year with no other footy one except for the part where we always get smashed...

Was thinking about going but it's just too far for me. Should smash them this time.

take a blanket and put a tyre iron in your bag. That's a frigging long drive and you're getting dangerously close to Frankston

Yep, scary for a simple country kid. I'll have my Lazza security service.

Yeah right!! Shocked

Are you going, Magpie Bat? I would have thought this was about as close as the 'Pies get to playing a "local" game for you? That is, only a 9-hour commitment, rather than your usual 12? Laughing

You're funny, P4S. Razz

Haha, yes, I am going. From where I live, it's about half an hour or so closer to home (by the most direct route), but I'll be taking a detour on the way, so I'll actually have to leave a fair bit earlier than I would otherwise, which means the travel time will effectively be another hour or so longer than it would be going to Vic Park.

Your compassion is noted, though. And commendable. Smile

we got smashed last year and whilst it is nice to have the afl players strengthen the side it does get problematic at times because of limited game times and an over abundance of similar type players.

Having only ever seen Casey Fields on TV, it doesn't look like there's much. There's one small grandstand/pavilion on the TV side of the ground. From memory, there's also a couple of bus shelter-style areas on the far side of the oval (along with a food kiosk and the scoreboard). Every time I've seen a match there on the TV, it's been rather windy, so rug up...

there's a couple of shelters on the scoreboard side of the ground. there is some seating on the rooms side. but, the ground is very exposed.

lazza, bring plenty of tea.

That would indicate to me that he is playing VFL today.

Would be a bit of a letdown for the kid, but his time will come soon...
