Top 4 is a looking a chance this year, whod have thought. We will go into the next 7 games as favourites:
Essendon
Carlton
Bye
Adelaide (away)
WCE
St Kilda (Etihad)
Melb
WB
With Brown, Reid, Adams, Karnesis, Dwyer, Seedsman, Sinclair all returning or to return in the next two weeks things are looking very good at pie land.
Marley Williams sentence is also this tuesday, so who knows about him.
Very much feeling like 2008, 2009 now...

Last time a thread was made like this we proceeded to get our faces stomped on by Sydney.... |

Essendon were going to be 3-2 after they beat St Kilda last night as well.
I'll be delighted if we go 4-2 after next week but I won't even take that for granted and to think that far ahead without factoring in form, injuries and the occasional shocker that every team has, is just being blindly, irrationally, optimistic, especially for a developing team. |

The scum look like breaking their duck today so I don't see the next 2 weeks as any certainties. There are very few easy games in AFL these days _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

Except for the Hawks and Lions, I agree with that _________________ I am Da Man |

Top 4 is back within our sights... Dwyer, Adams and Brown in the 2's with Reid, Marley and a few other quality players possibly available after the bye.
Most importantly the players are playing with grunt - the pressure is excellent and we are forcing teams to play under pressure - an absolute key to play good finals footy!
Looking ahead I would rate...
10-2 is A+
9-3 is A (Most likely)
8-4 is B
7-5 is C
We are currently B+ for the season after a flunk'n start. _________________ Love us or Hate us... we are Collingwood - you can't ignore the Mighty Magpies!!! |

We are a young team relatively speaking. So inconsistency is part of the gig. They could win the most difficult of those games and drop a couple of the easier ones.
I was hoping that we got through the first 6 rounds at near 50% or slightly better. Because our draw opens up after that which is demonstrated in the OP.
However, one week at a time. Because every win makes the next game a little less important, until finals. |

Things are starting to look good, I really want us to smash the scum on Friday though. _________________ Defender...........

Very much doubt we'll go 10-2, but 8-4 or 9-3 would be more than acceptable. Amazing to think that's on the cards given our atrocious start to the season. Let's just hope our current form holds. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Anzac Day is always a toss up but the bummers are better than what they have shown over the past 2 games. They will be a lot better on Friday. I would be confident of winning the rest, Adelaide are getting better so that will be hard over there particularly on a venue we have never played on. I would be really glad with 8-4, particularly when many thought we could be 0-7 to start with. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

With a developing team I'd be happy with 8-4 but the key thing for me is that in the games they lose, they don't get smashed. That's really one of the most important things for me. _________________ No Pressure, No Diamonds
They used to be a happy team at hawthorn.

I hate threads like this. As Dave said, one week at a time!
We're still a young and developing side that's bound to have some poor weeks of football but so far I've been very pleased with the way things have played out since our poor performance in round 1. Without a doubt there's a lot to be excited about with this squad but we've got to be aware that they're a young side bound to have some 'down' weeks so to speak.
As long as the effort is there every week and we see continual improvement from our players and coach as well I'll be very happy. Really looking forward to this week's game against Essendon just for now and that's all we should be focusing on as a club consisting of the players, coaches and of course the supporters. I must say the heart will be racing this Friday that's for sure! _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |
