I used to be undecided, but now I'm not so sure.

We need to get the matchups right this week.

I think Brown should come in for Keefe and Faz or Karnezis up fwd to give us another flanker lead up the ground.

Probably could use Adams or JT winning some contested ball as well.

It all very well to say you want players A, B and C in the team. But you need to say who comes out of the 22. I'd also like the players you mention in the side. But I can't think of too many that should come out, without losing team balance. It will be interesting selection week.

Outs: Keeffe, Blair, Toovey and Ball

Ins: Brown, Thomas, Adams, Fasolo

That gives us more pace in the midfield and strength in defence.

With all due respect Rudeboy, dropping Tooves is one of the craziest suggestions I've heard in a while. Your account hasn't been hacked by Jack Darling by any chance? Wink

Not a good sign when Nic Nat promotes the game, it will fire him right up!!

HUGE game for us, we must be switched on right from the start unlike with Adelaide.

I'm actually a great Toovey fan, but I don't think we can afford to play Toovey, Frost and Maxwell in the same side. We need one of these to make way for a player with terrific foot skills; someone like Fasolo. Of the 3 mentioned, Toovey has been the least impressive so far this year - admittedly after returning from injury. FWIW, I don't expect him to be dropped.

Well I would argue that a few of our players WERE wall flowers at times during the game last week... Rolling Eyes
All I'm saying is that the REAL Collingwood must turn up this week and play much better than they did against the Crows.

Buckley also indicated ruckman Brodie Grundy would be due for a rest a little later in the season

Why would Grundy need a Rest after 1 Game after a Bye and played 3 good games in a Row?

It will be interesting to see how the players respond to this game, we will either come out with trademark manic intensity and make a game out of it or our confidence may be shot and we might be looking at first back to back loss of the season. Whatever the result I just hope we show better skills, game plan and run than the tripe we served up against the cows

Yep, playing too many dour types - we lack a bit of class back there (and forward, too) to get a better balance.

LOL... I think the expectation is that Witts could make way for Reid, freeing White up to play 3rd tall/2nd ruck so he'll get his rest then. Witts has an extra couple of preseasons under his belt as well. It wasn't a knock on your poster boy.

The stats don't lie.

I expect more from 1st rounders; in fact I feel the same way about Brown, but at least Brown is a quality stopper.

I've wondered for a while if Sidey's groin is alright, or if he has O.P; I seem to remember him being a fantastic kick, maybe I was wrong...

OP would make sense as his kicking has dropped off markedly this year. If he is playing injured or hampered then he is doing the team and himself an injustice. I hope he comes good starting this weekend and makes me write a long retraction.

Doubt it's OP as his long kicking has been good, and he's still covering the territory.
