Newton moved Carolina into field goal range and they kicked it. Panthers lead 3:0 after 3 and a half minutes. |

Jonathan Stewart has rushed 13 yards for a Carolina TD. They lead 10:0 with 5 minutes to go in the first quarter. |

Carolina mucked up Arizona's next punt and gave it to the Cards with good field position. An unnecessary roughness penalty makes it 1st and 10 at the Carolina 15. Arizona must make this count. |

And the wonderful Larry Fitzgerald makes a hard catch look easy to make it 1st and goal at the one-yard line. |

And the Panthers muff a field goal attempt, keeping that 10:7 scoreline. |

14:13 at the main break. Carolina to receive at the start of the second half. They only have themselves to blame for Arizona even being in the contest. Two costly turnovers gifted the Cards their entire score. The stats tell all - total offense: Carolina 208 yards, Arizona 65 yards. The game should be over but Carolina has let themselves down badly. |

And a fumbled kick return gifts Carolina a game-winning lead. 26:10, 4 minutes left in the third quarter. Arizona cannot recover. |

Amazing that a team that finishes regular season under 0.500 gets a home playoff game. _________________ "The night is a very dark time for me" Chaz Michael Michaels |

It isn't great but the 3rd and 4th best-performed divisional winners get the home games, so this is always a possibility. Anyway, they were always the deserving winner and, frankly, are a better playoff prospect than Arizona.
Meanwhile, Big Ben has Pittsburgh at midfield in the second game. Troy Polamalu is going to start when the defence comes on. Is this his last ride? Can he finally catch Flacco and snap him in half before riding into the sunset (no, I don't really mean that, I just love watching the hairy one's pass rush)? |

And ... Here ... He ... Comes ....
The mere sight of The Man makes Flacco trip over! |
