Been saying he is underrated for years. Gotta admit, I thought he was in danger of being overtaken by some of the younger guys at the start if the season, but if he can keep up his form, Moneybags will be a pie in 2015 and beyond Very Happy

Just needs to get through a full season uninterrupted. Seems to lose touch quickly when he misses games. His defensive work, of course, is always exceptional, though he may have even taken that to a new level this year.

I do enjoy watching him harass, chase and tackle but cringe when the ball comes his way. He has a serious case of the fumbles and of the 7 goals 11 behinds he has created at least 5 or 6 of those behinds he's kicked.

He was a big reason why we wrestled the game back in the 2nd quarter.

Good to see him getting a continuous run at it. Always had the potential to deliver like this but historically seemed to get injured just as he was starting to deliver consistently. Fingers crossed there aren't any injuries on his horizon.

Yep. And regains it very slowly when he returns. Goldie has been back for - how long now? 5 games? - and he's only just arrived back at his best form. If Goldie had the natural touch and coordination of a Beams or an Elliott or even a Maxwell, he'd be looking at a Brownlow. But he doesn't: one-touch football is something he just wasn't born with the gift for, so he works on it. A fit, firing, in-touch Goldsack is unquestionably best 22 and would be in any side, but every time he gets injured you know his mates are going to have to carry him for a month before he regains his best form. One of these days, that weakness will be his undoing. Someone like Reid or Scharenberg or Oxley will slip into his spot to cover a minor injury and Goldy will will never quite get it back again. If we are entering a finals campaign at the time, we'd be mad to rush him back: better to make do with a lesser player who can hit the ground running.

Meanwhile, he is fit, and the better judges had him in their votes last week. Nothing beats a Goldie tackle unless it's a Goldie goal!

Great article. I'm a big fan, so pleased to see him exceeding expectations.

I hate to drag Daisy into this, but if we had of signed him on the coin he was after, its players like Goldsack who would of been forced out by cap pressure.

I'd prefer Goldsack quite frankly

Bloke is a beast with his pressure, doesnt get alot of the ball but uses it very well.

One of our important players and I like him in the fwd line as well.

Has been very good the last few games. Forward is definitely his best position.

A great player is very honest and hard at it, an essential part of our team. He is like Mr Fix it glue.

the amount of people on here and big footy that were saying he will come out when everyone is fit was ridiculous.. while a lot of us were saying just his forward pressure keeps him in... ah the hindsight .

^ correct, and that's why I'm a little disappointed the article was written.
Was underrated and I was hoping he would stay that way.
Some of his efforts on saturday though just stoop out far more than normal.

No coincidence that this style is how we played in the forward line in 2010 with Bucks as the coach. I got the feeling then and soon after that Bucks rated Goldy a bit more than Mick did. Took a bit to get his last contract done, I dont think this one will be as long.

yep, we were like a pack of hyaenas after quarter time. And everyone in the team is going to have to keep up that ferocity with the countless guys banging on the door in VFL. I love the sack always have

About time he got some recognition. I think he is one of our most important players due to the pressure he puts on the opposition. Also his size and speed allows him to play both ends of the ground. But shhhh don't tell everyone.
Go Sack!
