Normally I would agree but I'd prefer we use Lynch's injury to keep Frost in the side as the 'Berg may not be on the LTI for much longer.

I'd say we have Frost marked down as our round 11 automatic rookie promotion anyway, and will Scharenberg be back by round 9 or 10 anyway? Unlikely.

Promote Martin this week for Lynch, then if we have to Frost misses 1-2 senior games until the round 11 upgrade.

As for anyone mentioning Yagmoor or Mooney as possible upgrades, you obviously haven't watched much VFL, both are miles off it at VFL level, let alone senior level.

That would be crazy. Upgrading Martin, who at best is right at the edge of selection, knowing that Frost may have to miss a couple of games? Why on Earth would we do that? We might have a decent number of tall backs at the moment, but Frost is at least number 2 on the list, and an injury is always just around the corner.

No, unless Martin's playing, there's no point in upgrading him, unless there's absolutely no chance we'll need that upgrade for some other purpose down the track.

I agree, why promote just for the sake of it. And we still don't know if Lynch will qualify for the LTI list anyway.

Yeah it's just madness to award our best VFL player of the last 2 years with an upgrade. Embarassed Razz

^^Yes, it is. We need to do what's best for the team, not one individual person.

By all means upgrade Martin. Looks well above VFL level and has stepped in without problems at the highest level when called on. Sammy Dwyer is the one that really excites me though. Fast skillful line-breaker who finds the ball and is tough as a cats head. Just what we need and will be a lock in for our best 22 once he gets games and fitness under his belt.
Reminds me of a real mix between Graham Wright and Tony Francis and will blossom with opportunity. Jesus we've got some depth at the moment. Shocked

there is no doubt that Martin is a goal kicker, so that makes him a goal kicking mid fielder. Unfortunately for him, our midfield is pretty set, and there is just no room for him.
He is doing himself no harm to be a senior player next year, maybe not at Collingwood though

^He plays up forward quite a bit. How about being a goal kicking forward of which Blair is not one?

I'm happy for Martin to get a promotion. Especially for a LTI one. But at no stage should it be for Frosty. Even for a game or two. He is a must on the list all day every day.

Well I don’t see him in our best 22 and I reckon he would have some Currency

I see him as best 22 but I know other’s don’t but I do. Should play next week vs Carlton.

I say Martin should get a game too after a 6 Goal Game.

We would not trade a Kid we gave up Heater for so soon
