There already are, Dave, sad to say. They put him in at the last election even though Blind Freddie could tell it was a certainty that he'd be the same divisive, dishonest extremist fruitcake he'd been in opposition, they just chose to suspend their disbelief for reasons still difficult to explain. If he'd had any common sense at all he'd have soft-pedaled his unfair, anti-Australian policies and been Prime Minister for ten years. But because he was stupid enough to go balls-out on a wreck-everything policy from day one. As a result, even the conservative cross-bench senators have blocked his legislation and he's got Buckley's chance of getting another term.

We are pretty stupid here in Australia, I agree, but we are not that stupid. Roll on the election. Abbott is GAWN.

The only reason Liberal won was because of the In-Fighting between Rudd and Gillard.

I reckon if Shorten came in as Leader Instead of Rudd. Labor would of won the Election

Interesting you're so confident with that Tannin.
Sportsbet has the Libs @ $1.70 & Labor @ $2.05. Wink

The Liberals are running from the John Howard playbook. Do all the unpalatable stuff as early as possible, then flick the switch about a year out from the election and become Santa Claus.

Howard looked like he was done during both his first and second terms then became our second longest serving PM. While Abbott is no Hawke, Menzies or Howard I still expect a decent showing at the election after a turn around in opinion. Still might lose though, him and his government have spent a lot of political capital and public good will on the mostly unproductive shit they've pulled.

Nup, think you'll find it's the Rudd/Gillard playbook. They are lurching from one screw up to the next many of which are self-made problems. Serious problems with Abbott's management of cabinet and very poor communication and coordination. Also finding out the hard way how much fun it is to try and work with minor parties and independents. Karma as they say, is quite the bitch... Laughing

To think that while in opposition, he vilified and ridiculed the ALP's best efforts to work with the minor parties and now that he is in the driving seat, he realises what a difficult balancing act it really is. Rolling Eyes
