I'd like to keep them because they're at least symbolic of times past, but it's a real shame that their construction has become so homogenous and impersonal. As for the 'rip' in the middle... yeah. Classy.
What was the issue that led the club to take the banners away from the supporters? Not enough volunteers? Problematic taping practices? Or desire for full control over the messages? Either way, another sad reflection on the modern game. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Another reason to arrive 5 minutes before the game. The banners are now useless and just more advertising. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

Does any one know what would it cost to make the banners it would be interesting to know. The new banners with the split must be more cost effective but it is not the same. |

Sadly, I reckon cheer squads have just about had their day too. Business is slowly killing all the fun. |
Totally agree Rudeboy. We are being dictated to instead of asked what we like & don't like. The AFL & even our club are putting the $ first. |

Brisbanes' banner is the worst - 7/8 separations in the middle. Miss the old crepe paper banners - some of the finals banners in the 80s/90s were brilliant - works of art. _________________ I have not lost my mind...it's all backed up on my harddrive. |

the club spent significant money on the crepe paper, paper for letters and sticky tape. once upon a time the club even contributed to feeding those that helped make it.
the club also makes a pretty penny when the banner is adorned with a game day sponsor's logo. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

But...............they asked us what we wanted and they gave us the dance troupe. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

soon banners will be electronic images projected on the field. |
They need to reinstate this, along with floggers for the cheer-squad and lab coats and hats for the goal umps.
The game has lost a lot of traditions that are worth retaining, at least in some form, if only a week or 2 a year _________________ "The last thing he expected WAS THE FIRST THING HE GOT!!!!!"
