By now you do not do eat meat - would have to tell mum fib every Easter about the dining menu - Irish Catholics anymore?

I didn't grow up in a religious household but Good Friday generally meant fish and chips for tea.

At the end of the day any excuse for a piece of flake, a couple of dimmies and chips is ok by me.

Why ???

Bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms and hopefully some hash browns will be in the mess in the morning Cool
Fly out day too, missus has got me some oysters and prawns for when I get home. Then it's the inaugural Great Western Sandstorm run on Saturday. Fundraiser for injured soldiers on Swanbourne beach out the front of Campbell barracks... 21 clicks in the soft sandand home intome to watch the Pies pump the kangas .... lovin life ... & BACON!!!

I'm not superstitious, so no. But thanks to my self-enforced herbivorousness, it's neither fish nor meat this year. Might have to go with nutmeat. Smile

Good Friday has always been just another day in our household, most of the family would eat fish every day if they could. I'm not much of a fan of fish, and not being at all religious it's going to be a meal with some meat in it.

I had been ordered by my doctor to eat more meat, but if there is a nice chicken salad available I might break for that. Smile

My Mum's side of the family were quite religious so it was more a respect for my Gran that we didn't eat meat on Good Friday growing up. Oddly my Dad's side weren't religious at all but they didn't either.

These days nobody really sticks to that.

i said yes but it's not entirely true. I don't like fish, never have, but could stomach flake every Good Friday, (Grew up Cafolik), however now days I appear to have become allergic to even flake, so no fish. No meat either as I just can't eat that, and I've become allergic to chicken, duck, etc...... so I'm turning veggie but not by choice.

I aint Catholic (or a member of any other strange religious cult).
The supermarket and Hamburger shop are both closed.
So I'm going to Tallaroop this arvo to catch some reddies for dinner.

(If that fails it's baked beans and avacado)
.

I live in a heavily jewish populated area. A few years ago it was a lovely day and I was sitting on the porch with a coffee and a ham and tomato roll. The lady in the unit opposite (a jew) was talking to the lady next door (a catholic who had been to Easter service that morning. The jewish lady said to me. That looks nice what are you eating? Ham, how else can I piss off 3major religions at once. her husband laughed his head off.

Voted yes but every year for the last few years I have been to the GFA and all they offer is meat, meat and more meat! Ended up choosing chicken over starvation
