Oh my God! Someone actually argued the facts! Well done Redlight, but you'll probably cop it from your peers for keeping this horribly interminable thread going and ruining so many lives. (they do tend to get a bit dramatic round here when the argument's not going their way!).
As a favour to you (and those who feel it is their duty to read every word of threads they aren't interested in) I'll keep it (relatively) brief.

You are correct, they are Daisy's own words, but uttered AFTER he signed for Carlton (believe me, just writing the sentence makes me slightly ill). You have to be positive once you've committed to a club, you can't exactly say you'd rather be somewhere else, can you?
Heater, at about the same time, said that Collingwood's statement about his departure being a 'mutual' thing was utter crap, he was dumped.
I think every person here believes either that DT wa dumped or that he left to pursue the big bucks under Uncy Mick. Either way Collingwood (or at least it's officials) flat-out lied, twice.

And to be perfectly honest I AM calling Daisy a liar, in the same way every player & coach is forced to lie in the media to avoid having them beat a story up beyond all recognition like some ugly 6-million egg meringue! Eg: "Nathan, What did you think about the umpire's decision to pay a free kick against your full-back in the square with 10 seconds to go, causing you to lose by a point?"
or
"Dale, are you happy to be playing at shitty old Carlton where you know no one except the coach and where you're more likely to grow a third leg than win a flag?"
There was no "Dalai Llama" behaviour required, you simply don't bag anyone (especially from another club) in the media. The statements you refer to are more about protecting himself than protecting Collingwood.
