Not wanting to be negative, but with our record of Free Agents, do we really need a potentially high priced person?

I've seen him a few times this year and he hasn't set the world on fire.

IF it was to be 800k, pass him off.

Though, he could be an asset, seeing Maxwell has gone and if he does play down back then some experience could be helpful for our young guys.

800k though...

Okay, we'll take him.

But he'd better turn up to the first training session with Chris Tarrant's arms or there is gonna be a ruckus...

It's seemed like our previous free agency strategy has been to sign a free agent who replaces a role player who can then be traded on for reasonable pick. (Let Dawes go for a high pick, replace with Lynch)
If we were to continue that approach it wouldn't surprise me to sign Frawley then shop around a Brown (for eg) for the highest bidder. All it costs is salary space and we get the experienced player plus another shot at a kid in the draft.
It's a pretty cold, logical approach but there's a certain advantage to it.

Barrett not mentioning Collingwood at all in regards to Frawley on the footy show.

Seems odd that some are claiming sources to the fact that he has an in principle agreement with the pies yet others don't even have us in the frame.

Mark Stevens also tweeted we were not in the hunt because of a tight salary cap, yet Mark Robinson was asking Buckley about it, and then tried to use his pausing and dodging as a possible admission of interest.

I dont believe any of these journos, so will wait until seasons end.

salary cap?! didn't we free up a whole heap of room when we moved on all those premiership players (thomas, didak, jolly, wellingham, johnson, dawes, etc. all replaced with MUCH cheaper versions)? plus, maxwell, plus heath shaw salary contribution drops off soon, plus wouldn't be surprised to see another retirement (ball or swan or both, even if it's the year after, allows a stuctured contract for a new recruit). I suspect we actually have a fair bit of room... that was the entire strategy, we are primed. don't know if frawley is the one we want, but we have the cash, mark my words.
