I'm suprised that many are giving Bally a wide berth, we really need him under the packs , i know his kicking was down last week, but he did some tough selfless acts in the last quarter. On top of that he always lifts against the cats, but i do agree that Adams would be better served playing a full game. Hawkins is going to be hard to contain, hopefully Frost and Keefy Richards can take him on. Jessie White owes us this week.

Was one of our best in the 2s last Saturday. And even given the depleted nature of our defensive stocks, I would take Clarke over Armstrong if I had to.

Which isn't exactly a ringing endorsement for Marty, but more a reflection on how freeking bad Armstrong is...

Pretty happy with that line up, I don't think anyone deserved to be dropped after last week and that's a couple of nice ins to replace the injured. Pies by 15 pts!

So far this season I gave us very little hope against the Dockers but expected to beat the Swans.

Tomorrow though I think could go either way. If we were more settled I'd be very confident of a win. But with an unsettled lineup and key players still missing, I'm not so sure. I'm tipping the Pies by 17 points.

Found this accidentally. (Do yourselves a favour and have another look at Thomas torp against Adelaide 2011 too Smile )

Just a reminder of what Fas can do, before he was injured. Hopefully he can bring some of that skill to the backline if required!

VFL Magpies played against AIS in a practice match tonight, all 3 emergencies named in the squad, and from the call Witts and Kennedy obviously played and were both named in the best players. No mention of Clarke, so if there are any late changes he is the 'active' emergency as it were.

By the way Armstrong was named first in the best players with 30 disposals.

Pretty sure all 3 subs played so wouldn't expect any late changes.

Absolutely right, I just browsed the coverage and Clarke was mentioned once as playing behind the ball. So any late changes would come as a bit of a surprise.

Kennedy sat out the last quarter so if any change is required you'd reckon he'd be the man.

Easy to be best on ground when he's channelling Sidebottom with all his dinky little chip kicks that do buggar all...

My confidence in our development and our evaluation of players ability has grown in leaps and bounds since last week's revelation of Jack Frost. I have confidence that if we are playing Fas down back, it is because he is capable of holding down this position.
I like our side. Keefe is a really good defender.
I was also very pleased with Buckley's coaching last week. This was a really significant development. Buckley's tactics and responses to opposition moves were really excellent and give me a very optimistic perspective on our prospects tomorrow night.
Our midfield is only improving, and if it can dominate then I believe we will win.

Enright almost certain not to play according to the latest reports, and their emergencies don't actually scream "threat" at you, so we are a massive chance of going 2-1 now.

If we win this we will be equal on points with Freo and the Cats, who would have thought that after round 1?

It will be interesting to see how the cats come up after the evil heat and humidity in Brisbane last weekend and a six day break.

AMEN to that brother! Very Happy

Mind you I was in Geelong last week and I have to say that I wish we had a home ground like Kardinia park. It looks sensational.

He's the new Ben Sinclair now that Sinclair is a half decent footballer at last. Wink
