Post subject: Is the Bux extension worse than the Tony Shaw appointment ?? | |
|
The similarities of presidents being spellbound by loyalties rather than the best coach available, are as plainly apparent as our current confidence to bring the ball out of the back line.
We are a complete rabble.
We are a very capable football side.
We have 3 of the best midfielders in the comp, we have the best key forward.
We are a freakin dream team.
The facts are we don't have 2 Collingwood premiership heroes in their prime.
Because they couldn't be managed anymore ???????
Sorry to say it but the writing has been on the wall, we have an ineffective coach.
The lack of ownership with the contract extension confounds.
It must have been conjured under sheer financial arrogance.
How the hell Sinclair keeps playing is beyond belief.
If only u sniffed Daisy half as often.
Burns by Round 7.
Eddie looks like this one u have to recover us another 2.5 mill for being off duty again.
Maybe cut the cord before its 20M.
What in Gods name was this board doing giving a 2 year extension ??

It depends,
It was a brilliant extension, in theory, to avoid media speculation about Buckley's position, to give Eddie and his Board a cruisey few years without having to make any hard decisions.
It was a horrid decision is you look at Buckley's abilities to plan, prepare, inspire, change, adapt, lead, i.e. to coach.
Reality, the media won't care how long he's signed up for. A few more weeks of this crap, and they'll put the pressure on the Pies. Finishing anywhere 11 and below and Buckley will likely be gone. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

It's not one round, it's round 23, EF, NAB Challenge game 1, NAB Challenge game 2, Round 1.
One competitive performance in the last 5 games. If we're resorting to honourable losses, then FMD, we're in trouble. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

Yeah I was a bit surprised by that, but I figured saying so would get Donny bumping my post! Agree on Sinclair, maybe he looked bad because he was one sighted a lot on a rather forgettable night! Well I guess he's this years whipping boy again! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Bucks is hunting flags, not valiant Round 1 defeats.
He didn't lose the 2014 flag, or the 2015 flag for that matter last night any more than Freo won either of them last night.
He hasn't put a foot wrong.

A considered response would say it's a histrionic question after our first match with an injury depleted team against a full strength premiership favourite.
It is a fair question to ask at season's end. _________________ âI even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didnât keep âem under long enoughâ Kinky Friedman |

The worry for me is that Buckley seems to have no inclination to change things up mid game when things are going poorly. Why not move Cloke out to CHF, move Maxwell forward - something at least....
In any case I thought that Langdon was good first up and Frost tried, but he was simply not big enough to cope with some of the Freo big blokes...
As for Martin Clarke - if he wants to head home, buy him a ticket one way...

Contract or not, it means nothing. IF Collingwood want to get rid of Bucks, then they will pay him out; no problems.
But as I said previously, round 2 is still two weeks away and we should get players back. _________________ Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey, we want some Bayley! |

TO be fair to Bucks, he sure would have loved the likes of Reid, Blair, White, Fasolo, Dwyer, Scharenberg (?), Seedsman, out there last night, we had an extremely young side against one hell of a tough nut experienced unit, and it showed badly. Only Rd 1 for chrissakes !

On Bucks: I think it's valiant people are coming to the rescue of our great Nathan, but let's be honest with ourselves and realize last night he was well and truly stumped on what to do by half time. I've sat by for 3 years giving my upmost support for him, but the clock is ticking on one of the most "elite" lists we've had in a lot of years which is seemingly going to waste on a game plan we simply can't fot whatever reason adapt.
On Sinclair: Really can't understand people's dislike for this guy. Showed a lot more than others last night and certainly wasn't caught ball watching unlike some of our more elite brigade were. Showed plenty as a defender last year and if the whole team had put in an effort definitely wouldn't of had his colours lowered. Very serviceable player.
Marty; The same can be said. He had just about as bad a game as any body else in the back and white last night. I agree since his return he's been a shell of a player that we all thought he could be pre-departure from collingwood in 09. I agree he must be on his last legs with us, but until some of our senior players and coaches are put on notice for our performance last night than I don't see how we can judge Marty. |
