We had a lot to work on from last year but it seems we've addressed none of those pressing issues.
Whether it's too hard, too soon or the coaching staff don't see our bullshit defensive structures, one dimensional forward line and appalling conversion rate as an issue, whatever it looks like they've done nada in the off season to deal with them.
To be honest the players don't look to me like they understand or embrace the game plan, coach or culture at the moment. Sure Freo are strong but Christ they're not that strong, our total lack of passion and mongrel has made them look like $£$%^%%$ world beaters. |

What a fair weather pack of snivelers on this site. Collingwood supporters my arse. It's round one, with a brand new side, heaps of kids, and 6 best side players missing. Sack the coach, bring back Mick the maggot, get rid of Eddie, Pert isn't doing his job, Eade is shit, pft, no wonder people leave this site, oh, and Tannin and E, go **** ya mum some more, and eat shit and die

I think that's a good point - you don't win almost equal football and get smashed like that if you're head is in the game. Why can Freo kick the ball 5 times and get a goal and we can't get one with 40 kicks? Where are our players running to position off the ball / running past the man? A handball happy gameplan (not that is has been tonight, compared to Freo's) is useless if everyone you handball to is under pressure!
Anyway, reminds me of a few bad games we're played over the years and we're bounced back - Melbourne 2010 (although a draw, not a smashing) comes to mind. Wouldn't mind the same result against Sydney next fortnight! (Although I doubt it).
Positives - Langdon.
White. Reid. Keefe. Dwyer (hopefully). Fasalo to come in, at least. Another two weeks to work out how to score a few more goals!

We just don't seem to have the drive.....i mean wait to see...i think (to quote from another thread) WE ALL NEED TO TAKE A DEEP BREATH.
But yes, we lack the linking, run, and yes focus. |

Great post on the AFL website - apparently Cloke said he'd improve his kicking by 10% this year. He's found a great way to do it - he hasn't had a shot at goal tonight....
I reckon he'll miss less shots that's for sure!
