Freo look the stronger team.
The last time they beat us in Melbourne was in 2006.
And the last time they beat us at Etihad was 2004.
But for me: I don't want to lose to Ross Lyons.
The last time Ross Lyons coached a team to victory against us at Etihad was the Milne v. Mick game Round 3, 2010.
I'll never forget it. I completely lost my voice that night. And the next night I had a gig at a party in Caulfield and it was a hornet's nest of saints fans. One of the toughest parties I've ever had to get through.
So that's my motivation tonight. And maybe give some crap to Ballantyne. |

Maybe, bit it didn't stop us saying GWS or GC we're the worst team, when on reality they were just inexperienced. If our midfield is any good, the ball won't be there much. Centre bounce, clearance, Inside 50, goal.....repeat

Love to see us win of course, big effort, but I dunno, this mob is good, damn good, White and Reid big outs. For mine, a big lion heart effort, but we go down by 11 points, but I would love to be proved wrong. GO PIES !!

It was not long ago that Freo were crap. Has it just taken them this long to learn the Lyon game plan? Can we expect a similar learning curve with the Bucks game plan? If that plan is indeed any good?

Can't say I'm confident that we'll win tonight. In previous years I've felt confident heading into the season but this season I feel like it's going to be a real struggle at times but hopefully I'm wrong.
Reid and White are big outs but hopefully Cloke has enough opportunities in front of goal to convert his chances nevertheless. Our midfield should be fine and we still have genuine stars in that area of the ground. The defence is concerning though and I'm a little puzzled by Keefe's omission from the side to be honest.
I don't expect us to win but I expect us to at least be competitive for most of the night and that there's encouraging signs heading into the 2014 season.

I'm having a beer already .
Can't help it , I get over excited , my stomach churns , I can't sit ,read a book , watch TV or even concentrate on watching old Collingwood games against who we're about to play ( I only keep the games we won ) .
Still 2 + hours to go .
Of course I care if we win or lose , but mostly I just want us to play well & give me hope for the rest of the season .
All my outrageous preseason bets are in place - now let the real thing begin.
